Despite the ongoing pandemic, the Golden Globes 2021 are continuing as normal this year,  well, mostly normal. It was postponed two months from its original airdate. This year’s ceremony will see the return of repeat co-hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. The upcoming Golden Globes will also be the first time the show is being aired bi-coastal.

Apart from naming the hosts and bi-coastal plans, we still don’t know if the Globes are going to be aired in-person, virtual or a mixture of the two.

Poehler will host from The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California while Fey will host from Rainbow Room in New York City. The nominees were previously announced earlier this month. At the nomination announcements, Jane Fonda and Norman Lear were announced as the recipients of the Cecil B. DeMille Award and the Carol Burnett Award.

The presenters for the 78th Golden Globes were recently announced and they include several previous winners and participants such as Cynthia Erivo, Joaquin Phoenix, Renée Zellweger, Kristen Wiig and Awkwafina.

How can you watch the Golden Globes 2021 live?

The 78th annual Golden Globe Awards will be held on Sunday, Feb. 28 at 8:00 p.m. ET. It will air on NBC. Since the ceremony is airing bi-coastal, that means it will start airing at 5 p.m. PT.

As for whether or not there will be a red carpet, odds are the Golden Globes might do something like the Emmys who did an “at-home” version.

Who is nominated for this year’s Golden Globes?

This year’s nominations were dominated by streaming yet again with Netflix accruing 42 nominations. Amazon and Hulu also racked up a decent amount of nominations for films like Borat Subsequent Movie Film and the acclaimed series Normal People.

HBO also racked up nominations for The Flight Attendant, Lovecraft Country and The Undoing. That said, this year also drew a lot of ire for its selection of nominees, which shut out shows like I May Destroy You, Insecure, and P-Valley.
