4. Scorpion

I watched Scorpion when it first premiered on CBS back in 2014. It was an instant success for the network, and even the critics started to dig it by the second season and beyond. Despite that, CBS canceled it after four seasons, and even the tremendous fan outcry couldn’t save the show.

Out of all the canceled CBS shows, I still consider this to be one of the more surprising ones, but supposedly the ratings just didn’t cut it for the network. Perhaps if it was airing now, they might reconsider, with cable ratings falling all over the place as more and more people turn to streaming.

3. CSI: Cyber

I might meet some pushback on this one, but I’m writing it down anyway. I thought CSI: Cyber was a lot of fun and certainly fell into the “so bad it’s good” territory more often than not. Kind of stupid sometimes? Sure, what crime procedural isn’t?

But I enjoyed seeing what kind of strange and weird cases this team of special FBI agents went up against each week, especially with Patricia Arquette in the lead role. As for why CSI: Cyber got canceled when its predecessors ran for so long, it seems like CBS was just ready to close the book on the CSI franchise as a whole.

That’s kind of ironic considering the recent news that the network is considering rebooting it, but I digress. What frustrates me more is how timely the concept was, and continues to be, with our increasing dependency on technology and the crazy stuff that comes out every day on social media. There’s not really anything out there too weird to be considered given the things we’ve all seen over the past year.
