Men in Kilts Season 1, Episode 2 recap: Scottish Sports
By Ariba Bhuvad
Men in Kilts aired its second episode this week and has Sam Heughan and Graham McTavish traveling around Scotland and dabbling in its iconic sports. As always, the friendship these two share is beyond entertaining and makes for an amazing show to watch.
You simply can’t get enough of how hilarious the duo is and how their comfort with one another makes for some great entertainment.
In this episode of Men in Kilts, “Scottish Sports,” Heughan and McTavish compete against one another in various sports, including Highland-style hammer tossing, golfing at the world-renown St. Andrews golf course, and an intense game of rugby.
The best part of the episode?
The winner doesn’t exactly walk away with a prize; however, they get to watch the loser skinny dip into the North Atlantic Ocean. Bear in mind, this is Scotland we’re talking about where the ocean water would be beyond freezing, so it was in the interest of both Heughan and McTavish to walk away as the winner.
Men in Kilts Season 1, Episode 2: Sam vs. Graham
As the competition begins, Heughan is seemingly in the lead after lifting a 100 kg. stone up off the ground. But his lead doesn’t last very long as McTavish hilariously catches up to Heughan after defeating him in golf, hammer tossing, and rugby.
I think if anyone had to guess who would win before the episode started, I think they’d have placed all bets in Heughan’s favor. But lo and behold, McTavish came out on top (after off to a rough start and some friendly pettiness to boot), and we can rest assured he still hasn’t let that win down. And we’re sure Heughan has something to say about who actually won.
Men in Kilts Season 1, Episode 2: Brr, it’s cold in here
After Heughan hilariously loses to McTavish in a series of Scottish sports, he’s forced to take the frigid plunge into the North Atlantic Ocean–in his birthday suit. Accepting defeat like a champ and with a dram of whiskey, Heughan strips down completely naked and runs into the water as McTavish sits back basking in the glory of his victory.
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again–these two are friendship goals, and I can’t wait to see how their shenanigans continue to take us across the beautiful country of Scotland.
Coming up next week is Scottish song and dance!
