8. The White Lotus

The White Lotus is one of several upcoming HBO shows with a stacked cast, including Jennifer Coolidge, Sydney Sweeney, Connie Britton, Alexandra Daddario and many more familiar faces. The social satire series was filmed in Hawaii under strict COVID-19 guidelines and follows various guests and employees during an exclusive tropical resort stay. The six-episode limited series is expected to be a hilarious rumination on human complexity as we follow the guest’s many exploits while in this supposed paradise.

“It’s beyond exciting to return to HBO with this project and such an incredible cast. I am very grateful to everyone who has made it possible for us to bring our little bubble to Hawaii, a place I am proud to think of as a second home,” says creator Mike White, who previously worked with HBO on his Laura Dern-led series Enlightened.

The White Lotus does not have an official premiere date yet.

7. Mare of Easttown

Another year another high-profile murder mystery with an A-list star in the middle. Kate Winslet stars in this upcoming limited series as a small-town Pennslyvania detective who gets wrapped up in a murder investigation while simultaneously trying to keep her personal life from collapsing around her. Apart from Winslet, the series also stars Julianne Nicholson, Jean Smart, Angourie Rice, Evan Peters, Cailee Spaeny and David Denman.

Mare of Easttown will premiere on April 18.
