Well, Schitt’s Creek might not be doing a total sweep at the Golden Globe Awards like they did for the Primetime Emmy  Awards but that doesn’t mean they’ll be going home without any awards! Star Catherine O’Hara has won for Best Actress in a Comedy for Schitt’s Creek shortly after Dan Levy lost to John Boyega.

Personally, I was rooting for Kaley Cuoco to win this category for her stellar work in the HBO Max series The Flight Attendant, but I can admit that O’Hara was likely the favorite to win, especially given how popular Schitt’s Creek is with both fans and critics alike.

The Canadian sitcom created by Eugene and Dan Levy has racked up its fair share of awards throughout this run, although was famously ignored for the first few seasons of its run. The series has officially come to an end with its sixth and final season so it does seem like these awards are part of the academy’s late recognition of the show’s praise.

Plus Cuoco was ecstatic to be nominated alongside O’Hara, so I’m sure she’s not too upset that the actress won over her!

O’Hara played the role of Moira Rose throughout the show’s entire 80-episode run. She has had a long-standing relationship with Eugene Levy and won several Canadian awards for her work as Moira before finally getting recognized by the Emmys, Screen Actors Guild and Television Critics Association.

Not only that, but Moira’s character is easily one of the most popular on Schitt’s Creek, with her popularity transcending the series. Even those who haven’t watched Schitt’s Creek have probably heard about her character and seen the many memes circulating on the internet!
