In a clip shared by Starz, we see Emery and Anna sitting together on the beach as they lament all the problems they’ve faced since their chance encounter on the initial voyage. Emery notes that if they hadn’t met that day, they would be different people now. It’s interesting to consider that one single meeting could change and intertwine their fates in such a way.

The clip shows Anna wearing her pink dress, so I’m assuming the meeting happens before Crosbie’s death.

The Luminaries Episode 5 will air Sunday, March 14, from 9:30-10:32 p.m. EST, between a new episode of Men in Kilts and American Gods.
