HBO releases official trailer for The Nevers, when does it premiere?

HBO’s exciting upcoming series, The Nevers, officially debuts its first six episodes next month. The first season will include 12 episodes in total, but only Part One will premiere in April. Part Two will follow at a later date that has yet to be announced.

Today HBO released the official trailer for the series, which will premiere on Sunday, April 11 at 9-10 p.m. ET/PT. Episodes will debut on HBO and then be available to stream on HBO Max.

Set in 1896, The Nevers is about a monumental supernatural event in Victorian London that gives people, mostly women, strange abilities. Some of these women will find that their abilities are incredible, while others will be saddled with more disturbing gifts.

But as we all know from following the superhero genre over the years, anyone suddenly bestowed with supernatural abilities will find themselves facing grave danger. The show will follow Amalia’s widow and a young investigator named Penance Adair, who will work diligently to protect these gifted people.

The series stars Laura Donnelly, Ann Skelly, Olivia Williams, James Norton, Tom Riley, Pip Torrens, Ben Chaplin, Denis O’Hare, Amy Manson, Rochelle Neil, Zackary Momoh, Eleanor Tomlinson, Elizabeth Berrington, Anna Devlin, Kiran Sonia, Viola Prettejohn, Ella Smith, Vinnie Heaven and Nick Frost.

The Nevers Season 1 schedule of airing

The pilot episode of The Nevers airs on April 11. Here is the official synopsis:

"Series premiere. London, 1899. Three years after an inexplicable event suddenly equips them with extraordinary abilities, Amalia True (Laura Donnelly) and Penance Adair (Ann Skelly) work to protect their kind from widespread, deepening antipathy. Meanwhile, police inspector Frank Mundi (Ben Chaplin) investigates a string of murders at the hands of a reportedly Touched and highly dangerous serial killer named Maladie (Amy Manson)."

The remainder of the season will air as follows:

  • Episode 2: “Exposure” on April 18
  • Episode 3: “Ignition” on April 25
  • Episode 4: “Undertaking” on May 2
  • Episode 5: “Hanged” on May 9
  • Episode 6: “True” (Part One Finale) on May 16
