Yes, Disney+ is all the rage right now thanks to its two (with more on the way) fantastic Marvel shows WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. But lest we forget Disney’s other massive, billion-dollar franchise Star Wars also has several big shows lined up, like the highly-anticipated Obi-Wan Kenobi series.

Earlier today, Disney+ unveiled some vital information about the series, including the official cast list and some truly exciting confirmations –– such as Hayden Christensen returning in the role of Darth Vader.

We also know when the show is meant to start production and more about who will be directing episodes of the series.

Obi-Wan Kenobi is just one of many planned Star Wars shows,. The special event series will star Ewan McGregor as the legendary Jedi Master as the story continues.

Who is playing who in Obi-Wan Kenobi?

Apart from McGregor and Christensen, there are plenty of newcomers joining the cast of Obi-Wan Kenobi. The official Disney+ Twitter account tweeted out a handy infographic.

As you can see from the photo, the two Star Wars heavyweights will be joined by Moses Ingram, Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr. Sung Kang, Simone Kessell and Benny Safdie.

Disney hasn’t actually revealed who each of these people is playing, but you can’t deny that’s an impressive cast!

When can we expect Obi-Wan Kenobi to premiere?

The special event series will start production in April, which is pretty darn soon! There is no official release date set yet, but it’s likely we won’t see it debut until late 2021 or early 2022.

According to CNET, the series will “take place 10 years after Revenge of the Sith and nine years before A New Hope, in an era after the Jedi Order has been all but wiped out.”

How many episodes will Obi-Wan Kenobi have?

CNET also reported that McGregor said the series, which is being billed as a “special event” series, will only consist of one season and contain six episodes in total.
