The Handmaid’s Tale Season 4 is less than a month away from premiering, and with the release of its official trailer, it looks like things are going to be quite thrilling upon the show’s return. The two-minute trailer gives us enough information to be on the edge of our seats for the show’s next chapter.

After (and finally) what has felt like an eternity, The Handmaid’s Tale Season 4 is all set to go beyond the confined and suppressing walls of Gilead. We’ve spent far too much time on there, anxiously waiting for June (Elisabeth Moss) to finally break free of the shackles, and it looks like things are finally happening as she’s labeled “public enemy no. 1” in Gilead.

This comes on the cusp of the events of the Season 3 finale back in 2019 which showed June sacrificing her escape in order to liberate Gilead children. She safely got them aboard a rescue plane heading for Canada, while taking a bullet to the shoulder in the process. We saw the plane arrive in Canada safe and sound, while some of the Handmaids came to June’s rescue.

Picking up where Season 3 left off, alongside her fellow handmaids, June is going to venture outside of Boston and get away as far as possible from the dictatorship of Gilead that has ruled their lives. Season 3 gave us a taste of what that would be like, but the trailer below gives us plenty of time to see what life is like beyond those walls.

The footage below also teases all sorts of reunions and dangerous confrontations, per The Hollywood Reporter, as June fights like hell for her freedom, and is seen asking for justice in the final moments of the trailer. Is it me, or does Elisabeth Moss just know how to convey the ultimate look of badassness and courage?

The Handmaid’s Tale Season 4 marks the return of Joseph Fiennes, Yvonne Strahovski, Samira Wiley, Alexis Bledel, Ann Dowd, Max Minghella, Madeline Brewer, O-T Fagbenle, Amanda Brugel, Bradley Whitford, and Sam Jaeger. And while we’ve seen these guys over the course of three seasons, Don’t be surprised if many others join along the way as June relentlessly pursues the forces of Gilead.

When will The Handmaid’s Tale Season 4 premiere?

Luckily for us, the season 4 premiere is set for April 28 on Hulu, which is less than a month away. In a year full of awkward and long stretches of tv show hiatuses, it’s nice to know many of our favorite shows are officially coming back!

And with all that has been promised for the upcoming fourth season, I think fans of The Handmaid’s Tale are going to be extremely satisfied to see how this story unfolds.
