All American Season 3, Episode 9 Recap: Testify

In the previous episode of All American, Olivia put Spencer in a compromising position after the car crash. Will this end their new relationship?

We begin right where we left off. Olivia confessing her love for Spencer and then ending up in the crash. Olivia asks Spencer to switch seats with her, but both of them end up getting out of the car.

The cops show up and one confronts them about the accident and who was driving. Before they answer, the other cop runs the plates and realizes that they are related to D.A Baker.

They seem to get off free. Mrs. Baker picks them up and brings them back to Beverly. Olivia and Spencer are now talking about what happened and Olivia calls it a one-time slip-up. She promises to tell her sponsor and Spencer believes her.

All American Season 3 Episode 9: Will Spencer let this go?

Spencer is replaying the night over and over in his head. He starts to realize that the water bottle that Olivia was drinking out of has been with her all summer. He calls her and she denies relapsing, yet again.

Spencer then gives her an ultimatum. She has until the end of the night to tell her family, or he will.

Coach Baker sees Spencer in the hallway. The coach from UCLA has resigned. This is bad news for Spencer, as this was his only offer. Spencer stresses how important winning is, but the team needs a kicker.

In Beverly, Asher goes up to Olivia in the hallway to ask her about the car accident. She apologizes for the cabin, but he brushes her off.

Simone and Jordan are also talking in the hallway. Jordan thinks they should announce that they are married tonight at family dinner. Simone does not think this is a good idea and we have to agree.

Asher then runs into Jordan and Jordan mentions studying a new game plan, but Asher knows nothing about it. So, he goes to the coach. He finds out that she wants to switch him to defense. This does not sit well with Asher.

Coach Baker is looking at his perspective kickers and comes across a girl that can kick. She may be the key to the season.

We are now at Baker family dinner. Before Billy leaves, Olivia confesses to having one drink. When they ask if that is all, Spencer tells them the truth about the summer. This could lead to trouble in paradise.

Billy and Laura are now thinking that they should be dropping her off at rehab in the morning. Jordan then tells Spencer that he did the right thing by telling the family.

Olivia is trying to reach her sponsor but is unable to get ahold of her. Jordan goes into Olivia’s room to talk to her. Olivia does not want to go back to rehab.

In the morning, Olivia goes downstairs to talk to her parents. She promises that she doesn’t have a drinking problem, but they want an expert opinion. They want to talk to her sponsor, but that doesn’t seem possible.

Asher is talking to his father about the change of position, but his father does not want him to switch and does not trust the coach.

In Crenshaw, Coop goes up to Grace in school. She asks Grace to talk to her mom about dropping out of school. Grace tells Coop that she knows her mom will not want her to drop out.

Olivia tries to call her sponsor again and gets her voice mail, yet again. Olivia decides to go find her sponsor herself.

In the locker room at Crenshaw, Billy yells at Spencer for not telling them sooner about Olivia’s drinking, but Spencer says that he was telling the truth and just found out.

In Beverly, Laura has just found out that Olivia took Jordan’s car, but they do not know where she went.

All American Season 3 Episode 9: Will Olivia find her sponsor?

Spencer goes home to grab his mother’s car to look for Olivia. Grace has heard from Billy and knows the entire story. She yells at Spencer for almost covering for Olivia and for lying to her about what really happened.

Asher’s father goes over to the coach and says that Asher will not switch spots. He threatened her job, but she didn’t seem phased.

Olivia has been unsuccessful in finding her sponsor and everyone keeps calling her phone. She finally picks up Jordan’s call and tries to convince them all that she is fine. She realizes there must be one more place to look and drives away.

At the Baker house, Asher and Simone are keeping Jordan company. They talk about the coach’s choice to move Asher and how his father doesn’t want the move. Jordan finally asks what Asher wants.

Sitting at home, Spencer decides that he needs to call his therapist. Spencer goes to see him. He tells Spencer that he is carrying too much on himself.

Olivia ends up back at the school. She is looking through the garbage and finds a water bottle of vodka that she threw away. She calls her sponsor one more time and a roommate picks up. What could this mean?

Olivia finds out that her sponsor has ended up in jail and Olivia goes to speak to her. She tells Olivia to get a handle on her addiction, right now.

Billy is in Crenshaw and runs into Denise. She tells him to call Olivia and tell her that she can always come home no matter what.

Layla goes to Coop and tells her that Olivia is missing. Coop tells her to go after Olivia and also says that she is going to take the GED soon to finish high school early.

In her car, Olivia listens to Billy’s message and decides to go to Spencer’s house.

She says that she wants to go home and asks Spencer to go with her. He shuts her down and says that she is strong enough to go by herself. He also reminds her of what she did to him in the car that night by driving drunk and asking him to switch spots with her.

Olivia arrives home and the family welcomes her with open arms. Olivia thinks that she is leaving for rehab, but they are going to try to do this from home this time.
