A Million Little Things Season 3 gave us something to smile about during this week’s episode, and with all the chaos that has been looming over it, it was a welcome change. While we’re still reeling from Sophie’s (Lizzy Greene) traumatic experience, there is a light at the end of the tunnel for her. It will take a while to process everything that has happened, but thanks to Uncle Gary (James Roday Rodriguez) and Maggie (Allison Miller) she’s on the path to recovery.

Rome (Romany Malco) and Regina (Christina Moses) just might have found their happily ever as they make a big decision regarding Tyrell (Adam Swain). It could mean their lives have changed forever, but it’s more or less the life they’ve always been seeking.

Eddie (David Giuntoli) and Katherine (Grace Park) are not having as much luck when it comes to their relationship. Time in rehab hasn’t been so easy on him, but it becomes more difficult when he realizes that Katherine may be harboring feelings for another man. When he first cheated on her with Delilah, it was a difficult thing to understand. But after kissing Alan (Terry Chen) and realizing the reasons why Eddie stepped out of their marriage, Katherine may be realizing things are over with Eddie.

There is quite a bit to process from this week’s episode of A Million Little Things Season 3, so without further ado let’s jump right into the recap!

A Million Little Things Season 3, Episode 11: Regina and Rome’s new family

While much of this episode dives into Rome rediscovering a way to connect with his father and accept a new lady in his life, there is much more emphasis on Rome and Regina’s decision to foster Tyrell.

Rome and Regina have been extremely loving and welcoming towards Tyrell, and without doing much at all, they’ve gone above and beyond what an average person would. And on that note, Alan, who is helping out with Tyrell’s mother’s case, sends them to the center where he believes Tyrell’s mother to be.

Unfortunately on their way there, Regina gets a call from Alan who reveals that Tyrell’s mother has been deported back to Haiti. Eager to get to her, Tyrell asks Regina if she and Rome can help pay for a ticket so he can be with his mom.

While that sounds like a noble idea, Regina knows that life for his mother isn’t going to be easy, especially since she will be starting from nothing. Having Tyrell there with her is going to make things exponentially tougher, and will only ruin the opportunities that his mother fought so hard to get for him.

Tyrell is eager not to listen, and when Regina says no, he opts to ask Rome for help, without telling him that Regina has already refused the plan. Rome, being the kind gentleman he is, offers to give Tyrell some miles he has saved up so he can get out to Haiti.

The plan changes when Regina and Rome realize that Tyrell was hoping to find any way to get to his mother. He may have pitted them against each other, but when Tyrell’s mother calls and tells him she doesn’t want him to come out there, it’s a heartbreaking moment. But one Regina and Rome are there to help him through.

Tyrell learns that Regina and Rome want to foster him, and then when the time is right, they’ll help him get to his mother too. It’s probably the best news he’s heard in a while, and as he gives his approval to stay with Regina and Rome, he’s promptly grounded for trying to sneak around their backs.

I always knew they’d make wonderful parents!

A Million Little Things Season 3, Episode 11: Sophie’s choice

After the traumatic encounter with Peter (Andrew Leeds), Sophie faces a lot of difficulty over whether or not she should do the audition for MMI as planned. Gary, being the supportive but perhaps too eager “uncle”, pushes her to do it anyway.

She tries to delay it but when they tell her that she can either do it this year or postpone to next year, Gary convinces her that it’s best to try now. He doesn’t want Peter to take this one thing away from Sophie too.

But as soon as the audition begins, Sophie is haunted by fleeting memories of Peter and what he did to her. It’s too much to bear and she shuts off the laptop and runs out of the audition. Gary calls Maggie in as a reinforcement, but it’s really him that needs to have a talking to.

With all that went down with Sophie, Gary can’t help but blame himself for what happened. He feels like he should have protected her but instead, he’s the reason that Peter stuck around in Sophie’s life. If you recall, Peter rejected Sophie during their first visit, and Gary fought for her to get a spot with him.

Maggie tries to help Gary realize that is not the case and that he can’t make this about him, no matter what guilt he’s feeling. It’s important to be there for and listen to what Sophie wants and needs. And despite his urge to do otherwise, Gary offers his help to Sophie, and all she asks for in return is a flight to go see Delilah. She just wants to be with her mom, and some time away from Boston will be exactly the thing to help her.

While Gary may have put on a brave face for Sophie while she was there, he’s certainly harboring a lot of anger and punches the car window as Sophie goes inside the airport. I don’t know about all of you, but I’m worried he’s going to do something he regrets!

A Million Little Things Season 3, Episode 11: Eddie faces the music

Eddie’s time in rehab has been an interesting ride already, but it gets a bit more complicated when he realizes that Katherine could be cheating on him. She’s been through the wringer with him, and with the recent relapse, it’s made things even worse.

So much so that she has felt a pull towards Alan, who she has already kissed on multiple occasions. But this situation has helped Katherine understand what was going on in Eddie’s head when he cheated on her with Delilah.

There was a fresh slate, as Eddie describes it, and it’s perhaps how Katherine is feeling now. Sadly, the one having to deal with it and being stuck in the middle is Theo (Tristan Byon) who has been favoring Eddie a bit more over Katherine.

Being a kid, he doesn’t get the complicated nature of what’s happening, but Katherine finally fesses up and tells him that it sucks for her too. It hasn’t been easy on her, and she’s trying to figure it all out.

I’m not sure if Eddie and Katherine will be able to get through this bump, but I do worry about Theo if they don’t. I guess we’ll have to stay tuned to find out!
