Mythic Quest Season 2 premiere recap: Poppy is a total boss
By Mads Lennon
Dana and Rachel take their relationship to the next level but fail to make Grouchy Goat a reality in the Mythic Quest Season 2 premiere.
In the first two episodes of Mythic Quest Season 2, testers Dana and Rachel finally take their relationship to the next level, with some (unwilling) assistance from Carol in HR. I have to say I was so happy to see Carol back in the new season because Naomi Ekperigin is hilarious. Her lack of patience toward Dana and Rachel, who are both nervous about making the next move, was one of the premiere highlights.
By the end of Mythic Quest Season 2, Episode 1, Rachel and Dana finally share a kiss in the parking garage, and they’re interrupted by Carol, who happens to get held up by their liplock while trying to exit. “The first one was cute, but I’m not waiting on another one. Don’t f*** in the office.”
And once the relationship between them is established, they start to tell people at the office but are a little dismayed when no one seems to care, especially not Jo and her new boss Brad (she’s left David for him). Brad has taken Jo under his wing as a new protege, and they are a match made in destructive heaven.
Jo’s first real assignment is to assist Dana and Rachel in creating a new mobile game, so he can take advantage of customers by ensuring it’s stuffed full of microtransactions. Together, the new couple comes up with the idea for Grouchy Goat, a simple game where users can play as a goat and do crazy s***. But then Rachel decides their “simple” game needs to be more complex and tries to layer in social justice and animal exploitation themes. Even Jo helps them. Of course, Brad hates it.
The second Jo realizes her plan is a flop, all the progress she makes sincerely helping Dana and Rachel goes out the window. She takes credit and none of the blame, jumping ship the moment Brad disapproves –– he couldn’t be more proud.
