The Gloaming Season 1, Episode 8, “The Night of the Mothers” airs tonight on Starz! It’s officially time for the Season 1 finale, potentially the series finale, because the show has yet to be renewed.
Since The Girlfriend Experience has returned, the Starz schedule has been shuffled around a little bit. The Gloaming finale is airing at 10:00 p.m. EST, with The Girlfriend Experience taking its previous timeslot of 8:00 p.m., airing a new episode followed by an immediate encore. Then at 9:00 p.m., Starz is debuting a new episode of Confronting a Serial Killer.

In last week’s episode, things came to a head as Alex found himself back at the scene of the crime where Jenny was murdered. In the final moments of the episode, Alex was taken hostage by William and across town, Gareth ambushed Molly in her home. Things aren’t looking good for the lead characters right now!
What’s happening in The Gloaming Season 1, Episode 8?
As you can see from the above preview, everything reaches its climactic ending in tonight’s episode! Molly will have to contend with Gareth once and for all when he breaks into her home wielding a knife, and Alex is taken prisoner by the Crofts and William.
At the same time, Grace and her cove are busy preparing the mid-winter festival with intentions to make a terrifying sacrifice as Grace tries to summon her daughter on the night where the veil between worlds is at its thinnest.

"The investigation comes to a head as Molly is confronted by a knife-wielding Gareth in her home and Alex is taken prisoner by William and the Crofters. As the mid-winter festival builds outside, it becomes clear that Alex is to be sacrificed, while Grace desperately tries to summon her dead daughter, Valerie. Mayhem ensues as Molly and Gareth face off for the last time and Molly is forced to choose between her nemesis, Gareth, and her daughter, Lily."
