Brooklynn Prince in “Home Before Dark,” premiering April 3 on Apple TV+ /

4. Home Before Dark

This Apple TV+ drama debuted a while ago to little fanfare, and yet it created a compelling, Stranger Things-esque story that I think people would love if they gave it a chance. Home Before Dark was renewed for a second season early on, although it’s not clear when it will premiere yet.

It is based on the real-life young journalist Hilde Lysiak, with the main role being played by Florida Project star Brooklynn Prince. Home Before Dark centers on Hilde Lisko and her family after they relocate from Brooklyn to a small lakeside town with dark secrets one that relates directly to Hilde’s father Matthew (Jim Sturgess).

3. Saved by the Bell

Before you roll your eyes at how an ’80s sitcom could be included here, might I remind you that Peacock TV actually revived Saved by the Bell? You might have forgotten or missed it because Peacock is still relatively new as a streaming service, but it’s true and the revival definitely deserves a spot on this best new shows list!

Even if you haven’t watched the original series, you’ll love this sitcom that is sweet, adorable and laugh-out-loud hilarious. Those who did grow up with the original will enjoy seeing their old favorites like Zack Morris, Kelly Kapowski, Slater and Jesse Spano reprise their roles for a new generation. It’s a hearty dose of nostalgia and it’ll just make you feel good to watch! Plus, it has already been renewed for a second season!
