Central Park Season 2: Listen to Helen’s new song, ‘Weehawken Rap’
By Mads Lennon
We’ve got some exciting news to share for Central Park fans! Apple TV+ has shared its first official look at Central Park Season 2, which includes a fun new song from Helen called “Weehawken Rap.” The Emmy and NAACP Image Award-nominated series was renewed for a second and third season by the streaming service, and Season 2 is arriving very soon!
Show Snob has learned that the sophomore outing will debut globally on Friday, June 25 exclusively on Apple TV+ with a new episode premiering weekly, every Friday thereafter for a total of eight. The second half of Central Park Season 2 will return later this year with additional episodes.
What is the Central Park Season 2 plot summary?
In the second season, the Tillerman family will continue to navigate what life is like living and caring for the world’s most famous park. The Umbrella Academy star Emmy Raver-Lampman joins the cast this season as Molly in a recasting. Molly will continue experiencing the trials and tribulations of being a teenager while Cole (Tituss Burgess) is challenged by an embarrassing moment at school.
As for the adults, Paige (Kathryn Hahn) is still trying to get the Mayor’s corruption story, and Owen (Leslie Odom Jr.) is trying to juggle the park, his staff and family while keeping a smile on his face. Bitsy (Stanley Tucci) continues trying to claim Central Park for her own; with Helen (Daveed Diggs) by her side. And of course, our beloved, friendly narrator, Birdie (Josh Gad) is also returning.
Central Park is just one of many breakout hits for Apple TV+, which has several underrated shows, in my humble opinion. Many of the songs you’ll hear on this joyful and infectious series are bound to get stuck in your head!
