12. The Gifted

Marvel’s television shows have never been successful as their films (at least not until Disney+) so many of the shows that made it to air on broadcast were short-lived. Even the well-received Netflix series didn’t last long since Disney bought the rights back after launching their own streaming service. The Gifted was yet another example of a Marvel TV show that didn’t get much fanfare. It ran before Disney bought Fox, so it was based on the X-Men properties, set in an alternate timeline where the X-Men disappeared.

The show only ran for two seasons before it was canceled, despite receiving solid viewership and positive ratings. But sadly, The Gifted didn’t perform well enough in the linear ratings for Fox to warrant another season. It was another show one of those canceled Fox shows that fell victim to the Tuesday nights at 10:00 p.m. curse Fox can’t seem to get past.

11. Minority Report

Minority Report was a short-lived science fiction crime drama based on the Tom Cruise film of the same name, which itself was based on the Philip K. Dick short story. Produced by Amblin Television, this show was kind of a big deal in 2015 because it was one of the early film-to-TV adaptations and it was the first Steven Spielberg-directed movie to be adapted for television.

The series starred Stark Sands as a Precog named Dash with the ability to predict crimes. Dash, his twin brother and their foster sister all had unique gifts, but the Precrime Unit was dismantled in 2054. Set in 2056, Dash starts using his gift to assist Detective Lara Vega (Meagan Good) to prevent crimes while trying to keep his gift from being revealed.
