2. The Exorcist

Horror fans are not an easily impressed bunch, yet most will still tell you that Fox’s short-lived series The Exorcist was way better than it had any right to be. Sure, it got off to a rocky start, but once you get going, it gets So. Dang. Good. It’s such a shame the show got canceled after just two seasons when it was brimming with possibilities and had a fantastic cast.

And yes, as the name suggests, the film did spin-off from the iconic film of the same name, but the writers managed to make an awesome show. Sadly, the numbers really just weren’t there, and Fox stuck it in a burner Friday night spot, resulting in its early death.

1. Dollhouse

Dollhouse starred Buffy alum Eliza Dushku, as an Active, or Doll, named Echo. The show was like Westworld or Humans, revolving around a company that hires out humans to wealthy clients for criminal enterprises, sex and other activities. Every time an Active returns to the Dollhouse (a facility where they live), their minds and memories would be wiped clean and reprogrammed to become something else.

These “dolls” donate their bodies for five years with their original personalities stored on a hard drive somewhere else, but of course, there are dark secrets and conspiracies afoot. Dollhouse was canceled after only two seasons, and many fans wish it could have gone on longer as it became more interesting.
