A Bridgerton spinoff about Queen Charlotte is happening!

Yes, the royal, elegant, and often elusive Queen Charlotte will be the star of a Bridgerton spinoff on Netflix! The spinoff will be a prequel, taking audience members back to when she was young and ready for the throne.

Fans will also be seeing a young Violet Bridgerton and young Lady Danbury. Shonda Rhimes known for her work on such television hits as Scandal, How to Get Away with Murder and Bridgerton will be writing this exciting spinoff sure to be full of both heartwarming and heartbreaking drama.

This would be an excellent opportunity to dive into Queen Charlotte and King George’s relationship prior to his unfortunate mental deterioration. Throughout Season 1 that she had nothing but love for her husband as his current state continually broke her heart.

They surely must have had a deep devotion and love for each other. It would be equally fascinating to watch them raise their daughter Amelia before, as most know, her tragic death.

Bridgerton spinoff: Fans will be happy to know that a series featuring a young Queen Charlotte is in the works!

We may even see how she died.

Regardless the advantage of this spinoff will be that there is no limit to the storytelling as Queen Charlotte is not in the Julia Quinn novels. Queen Charlotte’s past is nearly a blank slate which means audiences will be speculating and anticipating what happened.

Where will this spinoff go and will we see more spinoffs for other characters? It’s too soon to tell at the moment but Bridgerton fans will without a doubt be excited for more updates in the near future.
