9-1-1 Season 4 gave us one hell of a shock after that unexpected and wild ending to this week’s episode. I mean, did anyone else fall out of their seat in utter and complete disbelief like I did?!

That’s the thing about a show like 9-1-1–they get you when you least expect, and leaves you wanting more of what they have to offer. Luckily, we don’t have to sit with that crazy ending through an entire summer, and there is still one more episode left in the season to address all our questions.

Whether or not the series will, or if they will choose to keep us in the dark until next season is yet to be seen, but seriously, they better not do that to us! I think all 9-1-1 fans will riot if that is indeed what happens.

Before getting into that major plot twist from this week’s episode of 9-1-1 Season 4, I do have to put a disclaimer out there. If you have not watched the episode, do not read ahead. There are major spoilers ahead, and I wouldn’t want to ruin anything for you.

And with that, let’s talk about the episode!

9-1-1 Season 4, Episode 13 recap: A life lost?

This season of 9-1-1 has been extremely eventful for some characters while others like Eddie (Ryan Guzman) have been cruising on by in the background. His arc has mainly been about figuring out how to get back out there and navigating relationships.

Luckily for him, he finds someone in Christopher’s (Gavin McHugh) teacher, Ana (Gabrielle Walsh), even though they are certainly not endgame. But Eddie is bouncing back on his feet, and it’s only a matter of time before he finds the woman who is actually for him.

In any case, this week, he and the station answer a call from a desperate son calling because his mother is stuck in the balcony. They manage to wrangle her free and all seems well, that is until they realize the mother has been poisoning her child all this time, keeping him sick.

It’s part of a scam she’s been running to smuggle funds under the guise of raising money for her son. That all comes to an end thanks to the first responders and their diligent work. Do we expect anything less from this incredibly smart group of heroes?

After an eventful day, the station gets ready to head home, until…

Shots are fired from a distance and the bullets end up right in EDDIE. Yes, Eddie.

It’s a shocking sight as his blood splatters all over Buck (Oliver Stark), and he falls to the ground. I was in complete and utter shock watching this scene unravel, especially since we had no hint of something like this happening. Not even that foreboding feeling of impending doom!

We have no idea if Eddie survived, and what it will mean if he truly does die. I don’t even want to think about Christopher, and how heartbreaking it would be to find out that he lost his father too. I sincerely hope 9-1-1 doesn’t put us through that agony, I don’t think any of us can handle that kind of loss.

And neither can the station! They’ve already lost so much as it is, sigh.

Did Eddie survive? Is he gone? We have so many questions!
