The Flash Season 7 has lost almost half of the viewers compared to its sixth season as the show hits ratings low with this season’s tenth episode titled “Family Matters.”

The Flash has been in more than a bit of a slump this year after the show’s lackluster wrap-up of Season 6’s ambitious mirrorverse storyline as both the fans and critics have been severely disappointed with the direction the show has taken especially with the reduced role of The Flash itself.

The Flash‘s sixth season was very steady in terms of ratings and while it did lose a significant number of viewers during its run, it still held its place as the most-watched show on The CW with an average of 1.2 million viewers per week. The final episode of the season brought 1.07 million viewers to the network with a rating of 0.37 among the 18-49 demo.

The Flash Season 7’s premiere held strong as it only saw a little change with 998,000 viewers still tuning in to continue the mirrorverse storyline and things were looking consistent for the show as it only dropped little to none the following two weeks and managed to garner 989,000 and 982,000 viewers respectively with 18-49 demo of 0.29.

The Flash Season 7 hit an all-time low of 670,000 viewers.

But the fans quickly started to lose interest in the current arc as the story had less than an ideal development of the forces. It really didn’t help that the show went on a three-week hiatus as well which saw the show dip to ratings low of 768,000 with a 0.21 demo.

But the ratings dip didn’t stop there and in the last two weeks, the show has dropped even further with all-time ratings low of 0.1 in 18-49 demo and 670,000 viewers according to TVSeriesFinale, which is more than 300,000 less than the premiere of The Flash Season 7.

Many have expressed their frustration over how The Flash Season 7’s Forces storyline has been handled with Barry almost never being in action and using his talk-no-jutsu to give villains pep talk so they turn good again. Den of Geek recently did an article on as well asking The Flash to use his powers again.

It is interesting that The Flash is the only show with this significant drop with its successor Superman and Lois having more viewers tune into it every week.

The Flash Season 8 could be the last season of the show even if the series is big in streaming as Grant Gustin’s contract renewal still seems tricky with the lead actor expecting his first baby with wife LA Thoma.
