Batwoman Season 2 Episode 15, ‘Armed and Dangerous’, picks up shortly after Crows Agent Tavaroff had shot Luke Fox. Will Luke be okay? And will he get justice?

The CW shows have recently been moving away from law enforcement. This shocking incident with Tavaroff is a reflection of what has been happening in the USA for years. One thing is for sure—the Crows will not be looking good by the end of this episode.

Team-Batwoman have their work cut out when it comes to saving Luke and stopping Tavaroff. They have to jump through hoops to get the bare minimum done in this episode—if that isn’t an indictment on Gotham’s law enforcement, I don’t know what is.

Meanwhile, Alice still has to save her sister—absence really does make the heart grow fonder, apparently. Will Alice succeed in getting any answers?

In Batwoman Season 2 Episode 15, Luke disappears into his subconscious while in a coma. He unsurprisingly sees his late father there. Can Luke’s memory of Lucius Fox bring him out of this coma?

Unfortunately, Luke first has to contend with Bruce Wayne—his actual memories of Bruce, not the Hush-version. Dream-Bruce informs Luke that he has been shot and is fighting for life.

As in most ‘travelling through one’s subconscious’ scenes, Luke has a choice—accept death or fight to live. In this dream, Bruce represents life, but Lucius indicates death. As much as Luke wants to speak with his dad, that could mean accepting his own death.

While Batwoman tracks down the car thief who got Luke in trouble with the Crows, Mary grabs the last of the Desert Rose in the hopes of bringing Luke out of his coma.

The Desert Rose needs time to prepare—enough time for Batwoman to visit Tavaroff. Frustratingly, even under threat, Tavaroff is certain he did the right thing. Worse, he and his fellow Crows manage to get the best of Batwoman from Batwoman.

The Crows haven’t had the best track record with crime and punishment in Gotham, but Tavaroff takes it to a whole new level. He has his Crows run Batwoman over with a car. This is not a good man by any means.

All this on the back of shooting an unarmed Black man—Luke—which was only hours after Tavaroff and his cronies murdered unarmed, albeit zombie-fied, civilians on Snakebite. Gotham is understandably rising up against the Crows. But is Jacob Kane going to do anything about it?

As Batwoman Season 2 Episode 15 starts off, it looks like Jacob is going to do nothing. He has two agents at Luke’s door who don’t even let Mary in to administer the Desert Rose. How is that helpful?

And things get much worse. Tavaroff’s lackeys doctor the body cam footage of Tavaroff shooting Luke so it appears that Luke did have a gun and was thus, lawfully shot. The only way to get the real footage is to steal the metadata from the Crows’ servers before it’s deleted at 3am.

That’s Sophie’s plan—but she just quit the Crows so, how will they get this data? Sophie decides to go all the way to the top—to Jacob Kane.

Jacob is not happy to see Sophie, let alone be told he’s running the Crows incorrectly. But Sophie was always Jacob’s chosen daughter—he may be open to confronting Tavaroff. In the meantime, Sophie plants a bug on the Crows systems to get the data she needs. Batwoman follows Sophie’s directions to locate the video cam servers.

And Sophie’s organised Wolf Spider to break into Luke’s room to administer the Desert Rose. Finally, some plans are working!

Only some plans, unfortunately. Jacob’s confrontation with Tavaroff goes poorly—Tavaroff knocks him out and plans to inject Jacob with enough Snakebite to kill him.

Instead of looking for the files to prove Luke’s innocence, Batwoman has to save Jacob. Honestly, this man is a disaster for every Batwoman.

Tavaroff is ruthless and he is unafraid to kill. He puts up a hell of a fight but Batwoman prevails—may this be the end of Tavaroff. And hopefully the Crows.

Jacob holds a press conference to announce that Tavaroff and crew have been removed, and that Luke is innocent—even though the real footage is now gone. Jacob also accepts responsibility for the failures of the Crows. And he announces the disbandment of the Crows.

In Luke’s subconscious, he and dream-Bruce debate what the point of living is when everything in the real world is so bad. When doing good still results in someone like Luke being shot and almost killed.

This is not a world Luke wants to live in—he chooses to be with his dad. But just as Luke sees Lucius, the Desert Rose kicks in and Luke is brought back to the land of the living. This is not the life he wants.

Now that Enigma is dead—thanks Ocean—Alice is stuck going through Enigma’s remaining files for answers. But the file on Kate Kane doesn’t have the password to unlock Kate’s mind. Alice is stuck in Batwoman Season 2 Episode 15.

But she also finds more than she bargained for—Enigma and Black Mask have details on the entire Kane family, including Mary. What is Roman Sionis/ Black Mask’s obsession with the Kane family?

Unfortunately, Alice is on her own—Ocean still refuses to help bring Kate back. He believes that Kate isn’t worth all this misery for Alice. Doesn’t Ocean know never to get between a serial killer and their twin?

Enigma’s files are a bust, so the Batcave is about to get a very unexpected intruder—Alice! With Batwoman out and about, Mary has to deal with Alice. For once, Alice isn’t interested in fighting—she just wants to know whether Team-Batwoman have met Circe Sionis.

Unfortunately, Mary has never met Circe, and Team-Batwoman still think Kate is dead. So, Alice’s mission is fruitless. Though she does try to warn Mary that Black Mask is after the Kanes. Mary is surprised by Alice’s concern, but she returns the favour by telling Alice that she, like everyone else, deserves love.

Alice goes looking for Ocean, who is still waiting for her. Despite all that Alice has done to Ocean, why does he keep coming back to her? Ocean seems to be a romantic—he believes his and Alice’s love transcends their troubles.

That’s lovely except he still wants Alice to give up on Kate, and that’s not something Alice can accept. This relationship has been rocky from the start but if Ocean isn’t willing to help Alice save her sister, it might very well be the end for them.

There’s one more stop that Alice can make—her father. Alice being Alice, she breaks into Jacob’s car to tell him that Kate is alive. Alice and Jacob teaming up to save Kate? Never saw that coming!

Final Thoughts – Batwoman Season 2 Episode 15 is Packed!

So much happens in Batwoman Season 2 Episode 15 but most importantly, there is a definitive move away from the Crows. The organisation has done little good for Gotham and it’s good to see the show take a definitive stand against a broken and corrupt system.

Luke’s trajectory following the events of this episode will be interesting to watch. A near-death experience always leaves a lasting impact, but Luke was brought back against his will. How is he going to feel about returning to a world that actively wants to kill him?

Every episode of this season has been a thrill to watch. With more character dynamics coming into play and more real-world issues being discussed, Batwoman is continuing to make an indelible mark in the pop culture landscape.
