Have you been missing high-school hijinks and family drama? Not anymore! Never Have I Ever Season 2 has a premiere date, and it’s sooner than expected, reported Deadline.

The Netflix YA comedy, co-created by Mindy Kaling and Lang Fisher, won fans in the early days of the pandemic. Featuring a diverse cast and centering an Indian-American family, Never Have I Ever stood out among the usual YA fare.

It wasn’t surprising that the show won legions of fans all over the world, and shot to the top of the Netflix charts. Since the first season came to an end, fans have been waiting with bated breath for the follow-up.

While Netflix announced that the show had been renewed for another season in July of 2020, there has been no release date for Never Have I Ever Season 2 until now.

The show’s official Twitter page shared a video featuring the new and returning cast of characters alongside the premiere date for the season: July 15, 2021.

Never Have I Ever Season 2: What can fans expect to see?

Never Have I Ever Season 2 will once again follow Devi (Maitreyi Ramakrishnan), her friends, Fabiola (Lee Rodriguez), and Eleanor (Ramona Young), and her love interests, Ben (Jaren Lewison) and Paxton Hall-Yoshida (Darren Barnet).

The second season will also feature Devi’s strict mother, Nalini (Poorna Jagannathan), and her overachieving cousin, Kamala (Richa Moorjani).

It is unlikely that fans will see Devi’s late father, Mohan, who was played by Sendhil Ramamurthy in the first season, as the family bid him goodbye. Will that mean we won’t also hear Devi’s inner voice, as narrated by John McEnroe? We don’t yet have confirmation on that.

Alongside the returning cast, Megan Suri is set to join as a new character. More recurring characters have also been announced for Never Have I Ever Season 2, set to be played by Tyler Alvarez, Utkarsh Ambudkar, PJ Byrne, and Common.

On June 17, 2021, Netflix and the cast will be holding a trailer event for fans where more details of the upcoming season will be shared, alongside fan interactions. We’ll have to wait until then to find out what more hilarity will ensue in the second season.
