Apple TV+ shared the first official trailer for its acclaimed series The Morning Show Season 2 today! The upcoming sophomore season sees Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston return as co-anchors Bradley Jackson and Alex Levy of The Morning Show on the fictional UBA network.

If you recall from the first season, Witherspoon’s character joins the show after Steve Carell’s Mitch Kessler gets ousted due to sexual harassment allegations. By the end of season one, Alex and Bradley overcome their rivalry to take on the toxic workplace culture at the network which results in Alex quitting the show.

In The Morning Show Season 2, Alex and Bradley’s friendship is experiencing growing pains now that Alex is no longer working for the show. Plus, after finally befriending Alex, Bradley is basically back to square one as she has to find a way to work with a new host, played by Hasan Minhaj.

We also get our first look at Julianna Margulies’ character, a UBA’s new anchor named Laura Peterson who happens to be Alex’s long-time rival. Entertainment Weekly recently shared a first-look photo of her character and says, “You’ve got to believe me when I tell you this character was worth getting on a plane for in the middle of a pandemic.”

The official synopsis reads:

"Picking up after the explosive events of season one, season two finds “The Morning Show” team emerging from the wreckage of Alex (Aniston) and Bradley’s (Witherspoon) actions, to a new UBA and a world in flux, where identity is everything and the chasm between who we present as and who we really are comes into play."

When does The Morning Show Season 2 premiere?

Fans won’t have to wait too much longer for the show to return. The series will be back with new episodes starting on September 17. The 10-episode season will return that Friday with one new episode and then air a new one weekly after that.
