Fear The Walking Dead Season 6 came to an end earlier this week with a mindblowing finale that will have repercussions leading into the next season. The doomsday apocalypse (times two) was hanging over like a dark cloud for the second half of the season, and we finally see how it unfolds in the finale.

The episode starts off with Rachel (Brigitte Kali Canales) changing a flat on her car while her daughter, Morgan, cries for attention. Yes, she is Morgan’s (Lennie James) namesake, who happens to be talking over the walkie-talkie at the time. He’s asking everyone to basically YOLO before the world comes to an end.

Frantic to make a run for it, Rachel tries to get out from under the car and winds up getting stuck under it. What follows next is a scene of her bone sticking out of her leg (yes, ouch!) but it doesn’t stop her in the slightest. She makes a splint and begins crawling down the road, but only makes it so far.

At some point, she realizes that this is the end of the road for her so she ties herself to Rufus with a rope and then proceeds to stab herself in the stomach. The idea is that when she would transition into a walker, Rufus would eventually lead her to survivors and give baby Morgan a safe place to thrive.

And that is just the beginning of the chaos that ensued in the Fear The Walking Dead Season 6 finale! Read below to find out what else went down, and be sure to tell us what you thought of it in the comments below!

Fear The Walking Dead Season 6 finale recap: Dame el arma

The finale played out in segments, breaking up each character or group’s journey to give it more substance and focus. In the second segment, we catch up with Daniel (Rubén Blades), Sarah (Mo Collins), Wes (Colby Hollman), Lucy (Danay Garcia), Rabbi Jacob (Peter Jacobson), and Charlie (Alexa Nisenson).

Daniel is confident that he heard someone give out coordinates over the walkie-talkie to a safe place. Of course, it’s tough to trust him given his recent memory issues. Given that doomsday is literally around the corner, Riley reveals that there is an old hotel bunker that is the safest place to be so the group heads there. Of course, this was information pertaining to Teddy (John Glover) who isn’t really someone you can blindly trust.

Things take a turn when the group learns that Rollie was in cahoots with Teddy. He was actually taking them to a place where they would watch the world end rather than a place to keep them safe. In a scuffle, Daniel shoots Rollie while Charlie shoots Riley. The new plan ends up changing to following Daniel’s coordinates he thought he heard over the walkie-talkie. I’m not sure what the numbers mean, but Sarah apparently did so we’ll just follow her lead.

Fear The Walking Dead Season 6 finale recap: Dwight and Sherry

In the third segment of the finale, Dwight (Austin Amelio) and Sherry (Christine Evangelista) find an abandoned house and decide to shack up there. Well, Sherry would rather have some beer and pretzels because that is something they said they would always do once they found each other again.

They didn’t find any pretzels but there was some warm beer to chug down while they talked. Sherry confesses that she regrets wasting all this time being angry, but Dwight is quick to turn her mood around. Before they can get too comfortable, however, the couple who lives in the house shows up.

Apparently, there is a storm shelter in the back but they were kicked out of it by some of the folks in the cult. Dwight and Sherry step in to help and pull the bad guys out of there, even going as far as shooting one of them in both of his knees. It’s brutal but Dwight has had it up to here with getting screwed over by the bad guys time and time again. He’s not having it anymore!

Fear The Walking Dead Season 6 finale recap: Teddy and Dakota

Was anyone else creeped out by Teddy kissing Dakota’s (Zoe Margaret Colletti) hand and stroking her face? It was so uncomfortable and I’m not sure why they had to throw that in there. We didn’t have to endure the discomfort for too long thankfully because John Dorie Sr. (Keith Carradine) showed up.

He told Dakota that he forgives her for killing his son and Teddy, getting worried Dakota might leave him, tries to shoot John Dorie Sr. But before he can, June (Jenna Elfman) shoots the gun out of his hand. She claimed she forgave Dakota as well, but it didn’t really turn things around.

Instead, they discovered a door to a shelter underneath their feet which caught Dakota by surprise. She thought that she and Teddy were going to face the end of the world together, but apparently, that was not the case.

Basically, Teddy just needed a second person to turn the second key, and he chose Dakota to help him. His intentions were never pure, and he always meant to screw her over. We don’t see her make a decision between sticking with the crazy old man or go with the group that was willing to forgive her despite what she did.

Fear The Walking Dead season 6 finale recap: Strand

The old Strand (Colman Domingo) is back, ladies and gentlemen! In part five, he walks into some sort of building and stumbles across the person that has been living there. Howard (Omid Abtahi) was moments from shooting Strand until he revealed what was about to happen.

With the end of the world nigh, Strand filled Howard in with what went on during the sixth season basically. He explained that everything came down to two men–one trustworthy, one not so much. Asking who Strand was, he said he was the one that was ready to die, and then proceeded to introduce himself as Morgan Jones.

Fear The Walking Dead season 6 finale recap: Back to Grace and Morgan

With the world ending, Grace (Karen David) and Morgan make a decision to, ahem, take their lives. The world isn’t what they were hoping for and with everything taken away from them, this felt like the best option. Morbid, I know.

Moments before he pulls the trigger, they hear a baby crying over the speaker. Lo and behold, it was zombie Rachel with Rufus leading her and the baby. It’s pretty shocking given the circumstances, I was half expecting a zombie baby to show up in tow.

The look on Morgan’s face as he held his namesake was an uplifting one, but Grace’s face said otherwise. She’s not convinced by the arrival of this baby, given, you know, the world is about to crumble to pieces.

Fear The Walking Dead season 6 finale recap: The end is the beginning

With everyone’s stories covered, we approached the end of season 6 and the impending apocalypse. Daniel and the group learned that the coordinates didn’t lead them anywhere, or so they thought. After shooting Riley dead because of his annoying behavior, we learn that Daniel wasn’t imagining the coordinates being given to him. It was Al that gave them to him, who subsequently showed up in a CRM helicopter to rescue everyone.

Meanwhile, John and June asked Dakota to join them in the shelter but she decided to pass. Instead, she shot Teddy and killed him in cold blood. Not long after, the warheads exploded eventually turning her to sheer dust as the smoke consumed her. R.I.P. Teddy and Dakota!

Shockingly, Strand survived the blast and became quite cocky over the fact that he did. He revealed he wasn’t actually Morgan and was the other guy he was talking about. Now that he has survived, he’s going to recreate the world with his vision, everyone else be damned.

And as for Morgan and Grace? Apparently, they survived the blast by hiding under a truck. Um, really, though? They’re definitely going to have health issues when season 7 starts, right?
