Ted Lasso: Meet ‘Led Tasso’ in official Season 2 trailer
By Mads Lennon
Apple’s award-winning, global hit comedy Ted Lasso is returning to us all less than one year after its debut, which is a testament to how much we all need some Ted optimism in our lives right now. Earlier today, Apple TV+ released the first official trailer for Ted Lasso Season 2 and along with some priceless one-liners, it also introduces a rather frightening new character named Led Tasso.
Just who is “Led Tasso,” you might ask? It’s dear Ted’s evil alter ego. The evil version of Ted, Led, is seen only briefly flipping a table and demanding his team “touch each other’s toes” in the trailer. What causes the dastardly Led to emerge? We’ll have to wait until July to find out!
In the first season of the show, Jason Sudeikis starred as American football coach Ted Lasso being hired to manage a British soccer team, despite having no experience. The widely acclaimed series also stars Hannah Waddingham, Brendan Hunt, Jeremy Swift, Juno Temple, Brett Goldstein, Phil Dunster and Nick Mohammed. Sarah Niles joins the cast this season as Sharon, a sports psychologist hired to work with the team.
At the end of the first season, AFC Richmond lost the pivotal match against Manchester City, and former teammate Jamie Tartt. That means this season, the team will be playing on a lower division.
When does Ted Lasso Season 2 release?
The highly anticipated second season will premiere globally Friday, July 23, exclusively on Apple TV+. According to the service, the 12-episode second season will premiere with two episodes, followed by one new episode weekly, every Friday. Yes, the second season has two extra episodes from the first season’s ten, which should be exciting to all AFC Richmond fans!
