American Horror Stories to feature new and old cast members
By Ariba Bhuvad
American Horror Stories is all set to premiere in just about a week, and it’s safe to say, a lot of fans are excited to see where Ryan Murphy’s new adventure takes us. In comparison to the flagship series, this will be a bit unique with a different story in every episode.
Honestly, I think this franchise will really benefit from a format like this because one season focused on one story gets to be too much. I think the whole element of horror and gore gets lost over the course of 8+ episodes, so I’m excited about the anthology format!
Earlier this week TVLine reported Murphy’s announcement that American Horror Stories will be adding some new faces to the cast. If you’ve watched his shows then you know he likes to bring in the same people over and over again much as Christopher Nolan does. But luckily, some fresh faces are joining this world, along with ones we’ve seen many times in the past (because this is Murphy we are talking about after all).
In his Instagram post, Murphy revealed exactly who will be joining American Horror Stories, and I must say the list is looking awesome. If you’re curious to see who will be lending their talents to Murphy’s fantastical, horror-filled world, take a look below!
American Horror Stories cast
Murphy’s Instagram post was a short video revealing all the cast members one after one on a TV screen. It’s to the backdrop of creepy things in the background like men dressed in leather (which is totally a signature Murphy horror staple). But without further ado, let’s discuss who will be joining American Horror Stories below:
- Aaron Tveit as Adam
- Gavin Creel as Troy
- Kaia Gerber as Ruby
- Sierra McCormick as Scarlett
- Ashley Martin Carter as Rowena
- Paris Jackson as Maya
- Belissa Escobedo as Shanti
- Rhenzy Feliz as Chad
- Madison Bailey as Kelley
- Kyle Red Silverstein as Quinn
- Amy Grabow as Tipper Gore
- Virginia Gardner as Bernadette
- Danny Trejo… as Santa Claus
Yes, you read that right, Danny Trejo as Santa Claus.
Along with all the newcomers, Murphy also revealed that we’ll be seeing the return of John Carol Lynch (as Larry Bitterman), Naomi Grossman (as Rabid Ruth), Billie Lourd as (Liv Whitley) and Matt Bomer (as Michael). And then there’s a “fantastic four” that Murphy alluded to a few weeks ago which has since been confirmed: Dyllon Burnside will play James, Nico Greetham is Zinn, Charles Melton is Wyatt and Kevin McHale is Barry.
This is likely going to be one epic series that just might surpass the appeal of its predecessor. What do you think?
Catch the first episode of American Horror Stories on July 15th on FX on Hulu.
