Premium network EPIX released Bridge and Tunnel this past January. The half-hour dramedy series set in the early 1980s revolved around a group of recent college grads straddling the comforts of their familiar hometown in working-class Long Island versus the pursuit of their dreams in Manhattan. Since the show wrapped its first season in February, fans have been curious if Bridge and Tunnel Season 2 would happen and now we have an answer.

The first season starred an ensemble cast featuring Caitlin Stasey (Reign, Please Like Me), Gigi Zumbado (Criminal Minds, Scream, 9-1-1), JanLuis Castellanos (13 Reasons Why, Marvel’s Runaways), Brian Muller (The Deuce, Madame Secretary, The Good Wife), Sam Vartholomeos (Star Trek: Discovery), and Isabella Farrell (The Good Fight).

Plus Edward Burns, who wrote, directed, and produced the show, also appeared in the series as an actor. Bridge and Tunnel is produced by EPIX Studios and is internationally distributed by MGM.

When we last left off with the characters, Jimmy ultimately chose to go to Alaska despite struggling to say goodbye to Jill. It’ll be interesting to see if she is waiting for him when he returns. Mikey and Tammy get Stacey’s blessing and officially start a relationship and Pags comes clean with Julianna about his law school rejection. Instead, Pags decides to manage his sister’s band because they’re surprisingly good.

Will there be a Bridge and Tunnel Season 2?

Yes! Show Snob has learned that EPIX renewed dramedy Bridge and Tunnel for Season 2. The original six-episode series written, directed, and produced by Edward Burns will be returning for more.

Bridge and Tunnel Season 2 release date

Don’t expect the new season to release this year. EPIX reports that the show will return in 2022, although they have not said when. Production is scheduled to commence in fall 2021 in New York. I think Bridge and Tunnel would make for an exceptional late spring/summer series but check back later to find out more information on Season 2 and its expected air date.
