4. The Middle Season 9, Episode 10 “The Christmas Miracle”

Many fans of The Middle love this episode because it’s the episode where Sue and Sean finally share a passionate kiss! It’s a sweet ending although the entire episode is about Frankie freaking out that Axl is questioning his faith didn’t entirely sit right with me. It wasn’t my favorite Christmas episode of the bunch although I did love the Sue and Sean development.

3. The Middle Season 6, Episode 9 “The Christmas Wall”

This episode is actually pretty similar to the Season 2 episode because they both deal with attempts to “simplify” Christmas. The difference is that in this episode, Frankie is actually trying to just de-stress and gives up on trying to accomplish the perfect Christmas. It’s not until the last minute when she realizes how much Mike genuinely enjoys her Christmas trappings that she rushes to throw all the decorations together.

The B-plot in this episode with Axl and Sean vehemently disagreeing on whether or not King Moonracer from The Island of Misfit Toys is a toy or not. In actuality, King Moonracer is supposed to be a mythical creature. It’s a creative and funny argument that I’m sure many people have considered before!

I also loved that Mike wound up settling for a regular green tree with a pink top when the store continued to give him the wrong thing. Although in my opinion, he should have just gotten the pink tree, maybe I’m projecting because I’ve always wanted one.
