Hope might not be lost for Manifest fans, after all. According to a new report from Deadline, NBC and Netflix are in talks to save the show, meaning Manifest Season 4 could happen, likely at NBC. This situation would be similar to what happened in 2017 when NBC canceled Timeless and then later reversed their decision.

Manifest was canceled after three seasons by NBC and Netflix decided not to pick it up. But things have changed since then. If you’ve been on Netflix at all recently, then you’ve probably noticed that Manifest has been in the top ten for more than a month now. The show has been netting significant ratings since hitting the platform in June after topping the Nielsen streaming ratings in its first week.

Fans remain as passionate and vocal as ever with the #SaveManifest campaign going strong.

Recent NBC cancellations might be motivating the network to make Manifest Season 4 happen

Another contributing factor to the reinstated discussions is the fact that NBC recently canceled Good Girls and has opted not to move forward with Law & Order: For the Defense. The new Law & Order spinoff had already been ordered straight to series and Good Girls Season 5 was all but a given before things fell through.

Since neither show is moving forward now, that means NBC has some new holes in their upcoming programming schedule and unused funds they can potentially invest in Manifest Season 4.

That said, there are some complications that NBC and Netflix need to iron out before they can officially make the renewal happen. Netflix usually likes to get the global rights for new originals but Warner Bros. TV already sold Manifest internationally. NBC and Netflix had a similar agreement on Good Girls, where Netflix controlled the international rights along with domestic full-season streaming.

But either way, the fan response and consistent Netflix ratings mean that Manifest is impossible to ignore. Still, Manifest creator Jeff Rake has consistently kept fans engaged via live-tweeting sessions and more. He has continually told fans that if the show does get saved, it’ll be due to their efforts.
