We’re down to the final episode of Central Park Season 2 for the foreseeable future! The back half of the season will return later this year and thankfully, the show has already been renewed for a third season. In Season 2, Episode 8, “Sir Bricks-A-Lot,” Owen must decide whether to accept a new job at Kingsley University in Connecticut.

The episode opens on a sleeping Tillerman family as Birdie catches us up on what has been a rough week for the family. Owen dealt with everything from a segway fire to a drunk possum while Paige traded hard-hitting journalism for an article on the best places for toast in the city. Elsewhere Molly dealt with a finicky art teacher.

Owen has been offered a prestigious job at Kingsley that would involve relocating his family to Connecticut. They want Owen to design a new park there. Paige argues that the threat of Central Park being sold and Park League being frozen out means this could be the perfect opportunity for Owen to work someplace that people genuinely appreciate him. He’d be designing the park, meaning it’d be all his! Plus, they get free housing and free private schooling for the kids.

“Sir Bricks-A-Lot” mostly serves as a bottle episode with the Tillermans remaining inside Owen and Paige’s bedroom for the bulk of the episode. The only time they leave is for Cole and Owen to go retrieve buckets of free Stacksters (kind of like legos) from a woman giving them away in the city.

Central Park Season 2, Episode 8 recap: What future would Connecticut hold for the Tillerman family?

With Stacksters in hand, each family member builds their ideal future if they move to Connecticut. Molly creates a future where she takes a part-time job as a janitor at the university for extra money and then becomes a famous artist with her work being displayed at the Louvre, (“Paint the World”).

In Paige’s future, she’s an accomplished fiction writer who gets kidnapped by an obsessed fan that looks suspiciously like Bitsy (“A Different Paige”). But then Owen rescues her and saves the day. Cole wants to meet an alien and then get help from his dad to send the alien back to its spaceship.

For Owen, he thinks about what his life would be like at Kingsley and realizes he would face most of the same problems he has now. He decides he doesn’t want to give up the home they’ve made for themselves in New York and the rest of his family agrees. Ultimately, they all decide to stay put at their beloved Central Park (“Follow Through”).
