Time to take a look at the best The Walking Dead trailers that have been released during the past eleven seasons!

AMC’s The Walking Dead is about to end its reign with eleven seasons not including the upcoming spinoffs. Each year, fans anxiously await the release of the trailers for each season.

It had become custom that each trailer for the upcoming season would be released during San Diego Comic-Con International. The trailers were an event in itself, as fans got the first glimpses of what was to come with epic songs intersected with characters, walkers, quotes, and dramatic sound effects.

The time and effort that goes into each trailer haven’t gone unnoticed however some trailers really outshine others depending on storylines, song choices, and how everything is edited together to create the final product.

It’s time to take a look and discuss which The Walking Dead trailers make the top five list! We’ve got eleven trailers to choose from so let’s get started!

The top five chosen trailers will be listed in numerical order. Before going forward, spoilers are ahead for those who have not caught up with the show.

The Walking Dead Trailer: Season 1

The trailer for Season 1 of The Walking Dead makes this list for a number of reasons. As TV shows are often canceled overnight, this meant everything was riding on the effectiveness of capturing enough interested viewers to watch a show about people trying to survive the walker (zombie) apocalypse.

The four-minute and thirty-five-second trailer begin the story of how main character Rick Grimes wakes up in a hospital. Surrounded by silence and dead bodies, he finds his way home however his wife and son are gone.

Luckily he is found by Morgan and his son Duane who explain to him what walkers are. Rick begins his search in Atlanta only to find it overrun by walkers.

Meanwhile, his wife and son are with a group of people outside of the city. The trailer ends with Morgan struggling to kill his wife who had turned and Rick finding refuge inside the tank.

Iconic walkers such as the little girl holding the teddy bear and the “bicycle girl” make their appearances. The trailer simply focuses on setting up the story without relying on revealing the entire first season.

You feel as though you are already connecting with Rick and quickly becoming emersed in a very unforgiving world. Walkers are everywhere in the trailer and it’s amazing to see how they used to look compared to now.
