HBO has been knocking it out of the park this year with hit shows like Mare of Easttown and The White Lotus. Next up for the premium cable channel is Scenes from a Marriage, which stars A-list actors Oscar Isaac and Jessica Chastain.

The five-episode limited series is a remake of Ingmar Bergman’s 1973 Swedish miniseries of the same name. This time it focuses on contemporary American couples. Scenes from a Marriage is set to premiere in September, so we don’t have too much longer to wait!

Similar to the original show, the new version will examine love, hatred, monogamy, divorce, and marriage through the lens of a traditional American married couple, with Oscar Isaac and Jessica Chastain playing the lead roles.

HBO has not released the official trailer for the show yet. I assume we’ll get one by the end of the month or in early September. But they did give us a teaser that you can watch below.

Chastain and Isaac are the lead actors for the series, but the show will also star Sunita Mani, Nicole Beharie, Corey Stoll, and Tovah Feldshuh.

Scenes from a Marriage release date: When is it coming to HBO?

The first episode of the five-episode season will premiere on Sunday, September 12, exclusively on HBO, reports TVLine. The outlet doesn’t say what time it will air, but most of the channel’s shows come on at 9 or 10 p.m. ET/PT.  Like other programs from the cabler, this series will also be available to stream through HBO Max.
