Motherland: Fort Salem Season 2, Episode 9 recap: Mother of All, Mother of None

In the previous episode of Motherland: Fort Salem Season 2, Abigail, Raelle, Tally, and Scylla captured The Spree leader, Nicte Batan. What will happen now that she has been found? Vice President Silver is on his way to Fort Salem with the President of the United States. They are both there to interrogate Nicte.

They go to her cell. Someone tries to get into Nicte’s head. Nicte ends up making her disintegrate. Nicte requests to be interrogated by Tally.

Petra goes to get Tally immediately.

Motherland: Fort Salem Season 2, Episode 9: Will Nicte hurt Tally in interrogation?

Tally, Raelle, and Abigail are all drinking with Anacostia. She is proud that they brought in the founder of The Spree. Raelle thanks Anacostia for working with Scylla and her mother.

Petra comes in to get Tally. Abigail and Raelle want to go with her, but they are not allowed.

Adil goes back to Khalida. He says he has been making the world a safer place, but she knows that he has killed someone.

Adil tries to convince her that he did it for the right reason, but she is upset. She takes the vile of blood off of his neck and leaves.

Raelle calls Scylla. Scylla is at Raelle’s father’s house. There is a bird that keeps looking after her. Who can it be? Did she take Nicte’s magic trick?

Tally goes to Nicte. Alder tells her that she doesn’t have to go in, but she does anyway.

Tally immediately starts asking questions. Nicte says that she and The Spree have only killed one civilian for every witch that has died in combat.

Nicte comes out and says that Alder killed all of those people in Liberia. The President is intrigued by what Nicte has to say and asks to speak to her.

They go to Alder’s office. The President calls Alder out on her lapses in judgment and the fact that she has “puppeted” her in the past.

The President clarifies that no one will ever know that Alder was the cause of The Spree, but now that they have Nicte, Alder will step down.

Raelle brings Abigail to the mushroom wall, mycelium. Izadora comes in before Abigail can touch it. She then shows Raelle a folder. They want Raelle to go on a tour to recruit new witches.

As the girls walk around the campus, they notice that a lot of girls are crying. M tells them that Alder is stepping down. When Tally asks why she is told it is because they brought in Nicte.

Tally tells M that this isn’t the whole story.

On her own, Tally goes to talk to Nicte. She tells Nicte that after she is killed, Alder is stepping down. Nicte always knew that this story ended with her death.

Nicte also tells Tally that the whole system needs to change. They need to band together to fight the real enemy.

Motherland: Fort Salem Season 2, Episode 9: Will the real truth come out?

When Alder steps down, Petra will become the new leader of the army. With Alder, the biddies will also be retired. Alder tries to explain her side of the story and everything she has seen, but it doesn’t change anyone’s opinions.

Tally is in the study when Penelope walks in with her new unit. Her unit walks away, but Penelope stays behind to ask if Tally will be at the execution.

When Penelope leaves, Tally is still reading a book and realizes that there might be something she can do for Nicte.

Petra is in her office talking to Abigail. Abigail wants to go to the frontlines to fight the Camarilla. She then hands Petra the piece that the Camarilla took from Charvell to put back with her body.

With a little persuading, Abigail gets Petra to agree to go to the frontlines.

Raelle wants to talk to Izadora about the press tour. When Izadora tells her to wait, she begins to hear the mycelium talking to her.

When she goes to the wall, a hand extends from it. Raelle grabs the hand, and it becomes human. Her mother then appears on the wall. Raelle goes to her.

Willa says that her love lives on. She needs Raelle to see how everything began. She shows Raelle people being burned alive. Alder is there. The Camarilla took everything from her.

Alder begins singing, and that is how the mycelium is born. The mycelium is dead witches. Raelle ends up back with Izadora and says that she isn’t going on tour.

Scylla is with Raelle’s father. He asks Scylla to stay even after Tiffany finds a family. Scylla takes Quinn to the park. All of her crows are coming. Everyone stops to look. She is using Spree magic to make everyone dance.

Quinn wants to know how to use this magic against The Camarilla.

Alder is walking to Nicte’s execution with her biddies behind her. Alder begins to speak in front of everyone and tell them of all of the crimes Nicte and The Spree have committed.

Alder goes up to strike Nicte, but Tally jumps in front of her using the right of Proxy. Tally and Alder have to fight for Alder to kill Nicte.

Everyone starts to invoke the same right of Proxy that Tally did. Tally tells everyone the truth about Alder. Alder takes full responsibility for everything that she has done and tells them to go after the Camarilla.

Alder takes her medals off and hands them to Petra. She then walks away.

Vice President Silver goes to check in on his daughter before he goes back to Washington. Penelope is going to talk to the press. He finally tells her that he is proud of her.

Anacostia is talking to one of Silver’s security guards, who has stayed behind. Anacostia gets a call that Fort Salem has been infiltrated. Gregorio runs for Raelle to heal someone. She has been given Witch Plague. Raelle tells everyone to run.
