Counting down the 11 most shocking moments from the three-episode Nine Perfect Strangers premiere.

Nine Perfect Strangers premiered with a bang, with Hulu releasing three episodes introducing us to the residents of Tranquillum House for the next 10 days. Well, if they survive it, that is. (Which is becoming more and more questionable.)

There were a plethora of unhinged moments. (Even the shots of the smoothies were somehow unsettling. Who knew blended fruit could be so ominous?) But let’s break down the 11 most shocking of them all — the cream of the twisted crop, if you will.

11. Francis chokes on a grape

Yes, Francis ended up being fine, but this moment still had us on the edge of our seats! Thankfully, Tony was there to give her the Heimlich. (Of course, she wouldn’t have been choking in the first place if he hadn’t been in the pool with her, but that’s beside the point.)

Side note: is anyone else sensing some chemistry there? They could be enemies to lovers excellence if it pans out how we think it might…

10. Masha receives threatening texts

Usually, Masha is the one doing the shocking, but our favorite unblinking Russian was in for quite the shock of her own when she received a series of threatening texts telling her it’s her last day on Earth. Well…we hope she spends part of it in the pool because it looks truly immaculate.

9. The Masha/Delilah/Yao love triangle

The staff of Tranquillum House is so close it’s practically a family — a family with absolutely no boundaries or sense of personal space and some truly unsettling vibes. There is so much to unpack in the relationship between Masha, Delilah, and Yao that this “moment” is more like three. There’s the scene where we find out Delilah and Yao are together (scandalous!), the time Masha and Yao get cozy in the pool (more scandalous!), and then the part where Masha gets very touchy-feely with Delilah (what is happening!). We can’t wait to see if this love triangle turns into a full-blown throuple or completely falls apart.
