This Is Us Season 6: Ron Cephas Jones teases final season
In an interview, with Entertainment Tonight Canada, Ron Cephas Jones teases the final season of This is Us Season 6 and what the showrunners have planned.
Considering how popular This is Us has been since the series bursts onto our screens in 2016, this upcoming final season has a lot to live up to. In a series that has made its audiences move to tears because of a crockpot, because of a trip to Memphis, because of PTSD from Vietnam, and basically anything regarding Kevin and him dealing with his demons. Considering this tear-riddled trend the NBC series has followed, it is safe to say the final batch of episodes will make us all blubber like a newborn baby.
While little to no press needs to be done to sell This is Us‘ final season, creator and showrunner Dan Fogelman still has been promoting his show and doing it beautifully. A couple of weeks ago, he explained to Deadline that he made the execs of the studio cry just by explaining and pitching what his final season was going to be about.
Considering I imagine studio executives as stuffed shirts who are all about the bottom line and making money, it is really cool to hear some are so invested in the same shows and stories that normal audiences are.
Ron Cephas Jones teases This Is Us Season 6
To add even more suspense on what to expect from this final season, we have the illustrious Ron Cephas Jones to help. When he was talking with Entertainment Tonight Canada, the Emmy award-winning actor stated:
“I think they got something coming that’s sort of like, it’s gonna just overwhelm everyone, you figure with all the different ends that need to be wrapped up between the inner family, the Pearsons, the uncle, they’re just so many wonderful things that even came out this past season, all the surprises that went on. So there’s a lot of little buttons, I’s that need to be dotted and T’s that need to be crossed, and I think that it’s gonna be even overwhelming for myself.”
Considering how these words are coming from not only an actor who has spent multiple hours on this show’s set but also someone who has earned two Emmys for his work, I can’t help but trust this man’s words.
Also, within Jones’ long and recurring tenure on This Is Us, he also has been the focal point of many emotional storylines, mainly regarding Randall Pearson’s journey to figuring out his identity. Not only was he a supporting player, but Jones’ character of William was a beautiful depiction of a man who was bisexual and saw sexuality as something very fluid. For a primetime network drama, this type of LGBTQ+ portrayal was groundbreaking to me and why I will always love and admire Ron Cephas Jones and This is Us.
At this point, you are either a huge fan of This is Us or not, and that’s totally fine. If you are a huge fan of the show and invested in how the show will end, then Ron Cephas Jones’ words will get you very excited for the upcoming final season. At the time of writing, there is no premiere date yet for Season 6, but I am going to be waiting with bated breath.
