Oliver calls Charles and Mabel to meet him. He tells them that the killer poisoned his dog and shows them the note that was left on his door. They all agree that it has to be the murderer.
Only Murders in the Building Episode 4: Who poisoned Oliver’s dog?
Oliver tells Charles and Mabel that he thinks that the killer is Sting. Mabel reads an article that says Tim was mismanaging Sting’s money and that Tim lost it all.
Charles also confirms that Sting was in the building the night Tim died, and he was allowed to stay back during the investigation.
Charles then thinks they need to get Cinda Canning (Tina Fey), the writer of their favorite podcast, to help.
He goes to someone he knows that goes to a class with Cinda Canning and asks to help. He also asks this man about someone named Lucy. He tells him that Lucy seems happy.
All three are now on their way to meet with Cinda Canning. While in the elevator, the bassoon player, Jan, also enters. She and Charles have another weird interaction. Mabel and Oliver tell him to ask her out, but he doesn’t want to.
While they are talking to Cinda, they mention their own murder podcast. They also divulge that Sting is the murder suspect, and they want to know how to sit down with him.
She says to bring him something. So what will they bring?
When Charles gets back to his place, Jan is playing her bassoon out the window so he grabs his accordion and plays with her. Then there is a knock at his door and a note gets slid under that asks him to get dinner in an hour with Jan.
Oliver and Mabel knock on Charles’ door to brainstorm what they can bring to Sting. Charles tells them about his date with Jan. He is very nervous.

They are out to dinner and are hitting it off, but Jan goes in with some hard-hitting questions about his past.
He doesn’t like to open up, so he deflects to cheese. She calls him out on it. He goes off on a tangent about red flags, and this derails the date.
When Charles comes home, he is greeted by Oliver and a turkey. Oliver says that Sting moved his tour up and is leaving in 2 days. He is also going to renovate his apartment while he is gone.
The trio goes up to Sting’s apartment and brings him the turkey. They basically invite themselves in and sit down with Sting.
Mabel starts to ask questions about Tim. Sting says that he fired Tim for personal reasons. When they push him, Sting says that he yelled at him to kill himself.
Sting is relieved when Mabel tells him that Tim was murdered. So did the trio get what they wanted?
Charlie goes to Jan’s apartment and spills his guts about his last relationship. Lucy is his ex-girlfriend’s daughter that he became attached to. He tells Jan in the hopes of securing a second date, which he does.
Mabel is in her room and picks up a book. She figures out the post-it. G.M is a diamond company.
Charles goes up to Oliver and wants to have a drink and chill. Will comes up with the dog, and he tells them that Mabel knew Tim Kono and that she was also here when the other girl died.
