Are you looking forward to television’s biggest night of the year? Are you hyped to see if your favorite shows take home any prestigious awards at the Emmys 2021? The award ceremony takes place tonight with hit shows like WandaVision, Ted Lasso, and Mare of Easttown competing in some of the toughest categories.

The Creative Emmys premiered last week, with multiple shows picking up awards for outstanding technical and artistic achievements. You can see the complete list of Creative Emmy winners right HERE. You can also find out who won at the Daytime Emmys right HERE.

Keep reading to get all the details you need to watch the 73rd Primetime Emmy Awards tonight, including options for those who no longer have cable, information on the host, nominees, pre-shows, and much more.

What time and where to watch the Emmys 2021

The official 2021 Emmys start on Sunday, September 19 at 5:00 p.m. PST or 8:00 p.m. EST and it will air on CBS this year.

The ceremony will take place at the Microsoft Theater in Downtown Los Angeles. Even though the pandemic is still ongoing, expect a mixture of nominees and their guests to attend in-person as the restrictions have mostly been lifted, albeit with mask and vaccine rules still applying at most places. I’m guessing some actors will attend while others will attend virtually.

How to watch the Emmys 2021 without cable

If you don’t have cable, never fear! There are several ways to watch CBS without it. YouTube TV, fuboTV, Paramount+, Hulu Live and AT&T TV  all offer access to CBS live. All of these offer free trials, too, so if you want, you can sign-up for free and watch the ceremony and then cancel afterward (except AT&T TV, although if you cancel within 14 days, the company claims you won’t be charged).

Are there any pre-shows?

While guests are allowed back for in-person visits, the red carpet will still be fairly limited. CBS will not show a pre-show because of a late-afternoon football game, but there will be some pre-show coverage on other networks.

The main ones to watch will be on E! with their Live From E!: Countdown to the 2021 Emmys, hosted by Nightly Pop host Nina Parker, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Lisa Rinna, and stylist Brad Goreski. This one kicks off at 1:30 p.m. PST/4:30 p.m. EST. You can also stream E! on the NBC app and mobile devices and NBC.com.

People and Entertainment Weekly will also have a show hosted by People‘s Janine Rubenstein and Jeremy Parsons. It will start at 3:00 p.m. PT/6:00 p.m. ET, two hours before the ceremony. You’ll be able to stream it free on YouTube right HERE.

Who is hosting the Emmys 2021?

This year Cedric the Entertainer has been tapped to host the ceremony. Last year Jimmy Kimmel hosted, and before that, the ceremony went without a host for a couple of years.
