The category of Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series at the Emmys 2021 was one of the most competitive ones this year. It could be argued that every actress nominated in this category was worthy of winning, but only one could come out on top.

Easily the favorite to win was Kate Winslet for her excellent performance in Mare of Easttown, however, many fans were hoping that Elizabeth Olsen would score a win for her tremendous job at portraying Wanda Maximoff in the Disney+ series WandaVision, which kicked off a string of MCU shows on the streaming service.

But then there is Michaela Coel, who did a phenomenal job on the HBO miniseries I May Destroy You. Not only did the British actress star in the series but she also created it, directed, wrote, and produced it. And as if those three women aren’t enough, then you have Anya Taylor-Joy, who has already picked up several awards for The Queen’s Gambit, and Cynthia Erivo in Genius: Aretha.

As you can see, it’s understandable that this was one of the tightest races in recent memory.
