Over the past few days, Netflix’s irreverent series has been the talk of the town following their third season. This momentum looks to be carrying over since Netflix announced that Sex Education Season 4 will grace our screens in the near future.

Season 3 of Sex Education was released with all ten of their episodes on September 17th of this year, and it has been very well received. This makes it no surprise that the premier streaming service has given showrunner Laurie Nunn the green light to continue making this hilarious and poignant television show.

Sex Education Season 4: Where did we leave off?

Following an extended break due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, Sex Education saw their third season depict some of their most beautiful stories yet.

The once sexually repressed Otis, played by Asa Butterfield, was having casual sex dawning a Magnum-esque mustache, Eric, played by Ncuti Gatwa, and Adam, played by Connor Swindells, were finally happy together after a tumultuous history, Maeve, played by Emma Mackey, was living pretty well with a good friend in Aimee, played by Aimee Lou Wood.

Also back on the Moordale campus, Jackson, played by Kedar Williams-Stirling, was trying to cope with the new headmistress in Hope Haddon, played by Jemima Kirke, which caused some friction with his best friend in Viv, played by Chinenye Ezeudu.

As the third season progressed, we would see our favorite Moordale students go through some classic hijinks but also some serious and impactful plotlines.

Sure, there were some typical coming-of-age stories like a couple breaking up because one likes the other more, generational friction between students and teachers, a love triangle, and a few teenagers discovering their identity. But this show did so well in making these stories not only unique but also doing this all with one of the most diverse casts of characters in terms of race, gender, and sexuality.

What will happen during Sex Education Season 4 is yet to be seen, but I think it is fair to say that the stories will be so well written and beautiful, surrounded by jokes about reproductive anatomy.
