In the fifth episode of the show, Monica (Beanie Feldstein) prepares to move to New York City to accept a new job. She becomes increasingly unnerved as the Paula Jones (Annaleigh Ashford) trial looms closer than ever. Monica intended to lie on the stand and claim that she never had a sexual relationship with the President (Clive Owen), but she couldn’t get Linda (Sarah Paulson) to comply with her request to commit perjury.

Linda is no longer tip-toeing around the Monica/Clinton scandal. She officially hands over the tapes and throws Monica under the bus in Season 3, Episode 5. But then Linda learns that secretly taping phone calls is actually a felony, throwing a snag in her and Lucianne’s (Margo Martindale) plans.

By the end of the episode, the stakes have gotten higher than ever as Monica and Bill say their goodbyes and the trial moves forward into the next stage. It also spells doom for Monica and Linda’s friendship.

Impeachment: American Crime Story Episode 6 synopsis

Given how serious things got for Monica and Paula in Season 3, Episode 5, it shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that next week’s episode will be far more intense for all parties involved in this growing scandal. The episode is titled “Man Handled,” which is quite fitting. The Office of the Independent Counsel will take Monica into holding for 12 traumatic hours in a hotel room.

Impeachment: American Crime Story Episode 6 release date

The sixth episode of American Crime Story Season 3 will premiere on Wednesday, Oct. 12, at 10:00 p.m. EST. Unlike most episodes this season, Episode 6 is shorter, so it will only run from 10-11 p.m. EST in a traditional timeslot. Other episodes have aired for close to 90 minutes. It appears this episode is shorter.
