In the previous episode of Only Murders in the Building, we learned that Jan has been hurt and the murderer could be the culprit. Will the trio be able to solve the case once and for all?

This episode starts with the police at the building. Charles has phoned for help for Jan. We jump ahead and Jan is back home and doing well. Charles is taking care of her. Charles and Jan are talking about who could have done it. She never saw the person that did it.

Only Murders in the Building Episode 9: Who hurt Jan?

Jan getting hurt has Charles rethinking the podcast. The phone rings and it’s Charles’ stunt person from Brazzos. She is here to visit. Her name is Pataki.

Oliver has released a podcast retracting the previous podcast that said Teddy committed the murders. Mabel is listening to it as she is working in her apartment. A paper gets slid under the door that says there is a building meeting to discuss the podcast.

Oscar is also there. Mabel is recounting the notes that got left on people’s doors and then how they were hurt. There must be a connection. Oliver gets to his door and there is an eviction notice on it.

Charles and Jan are talking about Pataki and how Charles always felt second to her. Mabel and Oscar stop by along with Oliver. He has brought his stuff with him, as he has been locked out of his apartment.

They are all now on the case and looking at the suspect board. Pataki says that this was a crime of passion. The trio begins to agree with her. She tells them that the person that Tim was in a relationship with is the person that poisoned him.

Only Murders in the Building: Is Tim’s lover the murderer?

Pataki and Jan stay behind. Charles, Oliver, Mabel, and Oscar go to the building meeting. Charles looks at Howard and thinks that he is a murderer. Bunny begins the meeting by saying Tim’s death has now been ruled a homicide and that the trio is in violation of the building rules as they have made everyone’s lives public in the podcast.

Charles announces that the podcast is over. Bunny makes a motion that the building can evict them if they all agree. When everyone starts to raise their hands, Howard speaks and thanks the three of them because he found out that his cat was poisoned, too.

The building votes to evict them. Bunny is going to start the process today. Mabel, Oliver, and Charles get into the elevator. Mabel and Oliver want to find the murderer so they won’t be evicted. Charles wants out.

When Charles gets back to his apartment Jan is packing her things up so she can stay in her own apartment the night before her big show. She makes a comment that the murderer could be Bunny and she called the meeting to make the investigation stop. Is Jan onto something?

The next morning, Oliver wakes up on Mabel’s couch. They go back into Tim’s stuff in order to figure out the murderer. Mabel realizes that the trash bag handle colors are different. He was taking out someone else’s trash the night he was killed.

Mabel and Oliver go to Tim’s neighbor’s apartment to see if he was seeing anyone. She confirms that Tim was seeing someone, but she doesn’t know who it was. They go back to Tim’s things to try to figure it out. They realize that Tim has a bassoon cleaner.
