Best Gilmore Girls fall episodes: season 5 episode 7: You Jump, I Jump, Jack

What’s it about: Another pivotal episode, “You Jump, I Jump, Jack” sees Rory take a weekend trip to learn about the Life and Death Brigade from Logan (Matt Czuchry) for the Yale Daily News, complete with blindfolds, extravagant safari outfits, and jumping with umbrellas.

Why it’s among the best Gilmore Girls fall episodes: Rory’s camping adventure feels very fall, and — in true Gilmore Girls fashion — there are some seriously cozy sweaters throughout. Also, the mysterious element of the society lends itself well to a Halloween-time viewing.

Best Gilmore Girls fall episodes: season 6 episode 7: Twenty-One is the Loneliest Number

What’s it about: This takes place during the tortuous period where Lorelai and Rory are on the outs, so it’s one of the sadder installments. This episode sees Rory celebrating her 21st birthday — something she and Lorelai had been planning for years before their big blowup. Unfortunately, they don’t reconcile before the big day, and their interactions are kept to an awkward conversation at a fancy party Emily has put together.

Why it’s among the best Gilmore Girls fall episodes: The scene of Babette (Sally Struthers) and Morey (Ted Rooney) showing off their Halloween decorations is not only hilarious but also the perfect way to celebrate spooky season.

Best Gilmore Girls fall episodes: Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life – season 1 episode 4: Fall

What’s it about: So much happens in the last episode of the revival. In one of the most heartbreakingly beautiful scenes, we see Lorelai start to grieve Richard in the woods during her Wild-esque adventure. Rory reunites with the Life and Death Brigade and chats with Jess again about the book he gave her the idea for. Plus, we finally see Luke and Lorelai married and hear those famous, highly-anticipated last words when Rory tells Lorelai she’s pregnant.

Why it’s among the best Gilmore Girls fall episodes: Besides the obvious (it’s in the title, after all), Lorelai’s rare outdoor excursion feels very seasonally appropriate. Plus, the atmosphere and costumes of the Life and Death Brigade adventure are definitely reminiscent of Halloween.
