Squid Game season 2 is not coming to Netflix in November 2021

Squid Game is one of the most popular Netflix shows of all time — and that’s not an exaggeration. The show is so popular, in fact, that it’s broken both the internet and Netflix records. There’s no doubt the Korean drama has become a worldwide sensation, with over a hundred million people tuning in. Fans everywhere can’t get enough, and Squid Game season 2 is highly anticipated.
Squid Game season 1 left on what many consider a cliffhanger. In the finale’s final moments, game-winner (spoiler alert!) Seong Gi-hun ultimately decided not to follow his daughter to Los Angeles, vowing to track down the game makers instead.
Though we’re on pins and needles wondering how things will shake out, unfortunately, we won’t get answers as soon as we might like. Squid Game season 2 will not be coming to Netflix in November.
When will Squid Game season 2 premiere on Netflix?
It’s not certain when Squid Game season 2 will premiere on Netflix — or if there will be a season 2 at all. While the demand is there, writer/director Hwang Dong-hyuk hasn’t committed to making another season yet.
But don’t fear: he hasn’t completely ruled it out. He’s spoken about the possibility of digging into the Front Man and his police officer brother or even exploring more about the ominous (yet handsome) mystery man who plays ddakji with Gi-hun.
Considering Squid Game season 1 was over 10 years in the making, we’re still holding out hope that an equally chilling, plot-twist-filled installment will grace our screens someday. But considering the show’s complex storylines and large cast, the earliest it could premiere is probably sometime in early 2023. Considering its terrifying premise, Netflix may even wait until spooky season to release it, saving it for a fall premiere.
It’s a long time to see more of our new favorite show, but if season 2 is anything like the award-nominated season 1, it will definitely be worth the wait!
