As if things couldn’t get worse, The Walking Dead: World Beyond Episode 6 “Who Are You?” shows just how brutal the CR is. There was a bigger reason at play for the downfall of Omaha, and now our characters are more divided than ever on what to do about it.

The stolen paperwork Jennifer presented to Dr. Bennett reveals that there is some kind of biohazard experiment work at play, and the CR is behind it. But what does it all mean, and why is this happening?

The group decides to abandon their escape plan and stay a bit longer to find out. They send a message back to Elton and Will using a screw on one of the CRM vehicles. However, Iris didn’t tell the others that in her note she vows to destroy the CRM.

This causes Iris and Hope to argue later on. Iris believes everyone at the CRM is evil, and Hope knows some people at the facility are helpful and good.

None of them are aware that Silas got captured and didn’t leave the CR base. While Dr. Bennett is trying to make heads and tails of the paperwork, all labeled with a letter V in the upper corner, his girlfriend Lyla arrives.

She has brought clothes for his girls and Felix. While he’s happy to see her, everything turns south when the basket falls over.

As he’s helping her clean up, he remembers back to when he first met her out in the field. She had dropped a file onto the ground, and sure enough, those papers had the letter V on them.

Now he’s certain she is aware of what’s going on and doesn’t know what to do. Back at The Perimeter, the message Elton decodes from Iris fills him with dread.

He confides in Will that the CRM has been providing Indira with the medicine she needs for her kidneys. He doesn’t want the place destroyed.

Will decides not to wait for Felix and the others. He and Dev decide to head out to the CRM that night but ultimately fail in their plan.

Just as Dev is sharing a story about having his father’s gun, he is shot and killed by incoming CRM soldiers, leaving Will to take off running for his life. Meanwhile, Elton and Asha decide to pray for Will and Dev’s safe return.

Elton partakes in her spiritual practice with two walkers they kill.

The Walking Dead: World Beyond Season 2, Episode 6 recap: Lyla Belshaw

Now that the group knows Lyla is working on this secret biohazard project, they need answers. While Dr. Bennett, Hope, and Iris have dinner with Lyla, Jennifer and Felix vow to find a way to break into her lab.

However, Jennifer finds that Lyla has been visiting another area. The problem, however, is the key card doesn’t work, so Jennifer has to shut down the power to the facility before the backup generator turns on.

As Jennifer and Felix make their way to the secret lab, she reveals that she is married to Dennis and that she suffered on his behalf due to a mess he made while drinking. Felix is surprised to find out something like this, considering he thought he knew her.

Felix manages to get inside and finds several dead empties frozen and then tons of tubes and containers of whatever chemical the CRM is using against innocent people. Felix’s window of two minutes isn’t enough for Jennifer, who has to escape before she’s caught for the power outage.

Felix winds up locked in the lab for a half hour before she is able to get him out. He manages to swipe a test tube in the process.

While all of this is happening, Iris and Hope have left dinner upon hearing how Lyla used to do testing on animals. Dr. Bennett tries to keep her occupied, but she decides to unveil a truth she has been hiding.

Assuming she is about to reveal the biohazard project, Dr. Bennett brings a dinner knife for protection just in case. Instead, Lyla confesses how she was married and had a daughter before the world ended.

Her daughter got bit, and her husband stayed with her throughout the night. The next morning both had turned.

She had tried everything she could to change them back, but nothing worked. She uses her past as a reason for the work she does now at the CRM.

The Walking Dead: World Beyond Season 2, Episode 6 recap: Jadis returns

The one appearance everyone has been waiting for has arrived! Jadis is back, and it turns out, she’s working security!

Elizabeth left the CRM and asked Jadis to keep watch in the meantime, especially on Jennifer. Turns out Jennifer had trained Jadis, and now it seems she doesn’t trust her mentor anymore.

The two have a few conversations in the episode, but the one that stands out more than the other is when she talks about what she had been up to before the CRM. She revealed, though rather vaguely, how she had her own group that was easy to control by creating their own language.

She details how she lost them due to trusting the wrong people and that the CRM was how she was able to do something more with her life. She delivered them something valuable, and since then, she’s been making her way.

She believes that Jennifer doesn’t support the cause of the CRM as much anymore since she had been away from it. She believes Jennifer cares more about others and lost her way.

Naturally, she’ll be a problem for Jennifer as she proceeds to help Iris and the others stop the CRM experiments.

I’m starting to fear what might happen after the events of The Walking Dead: World Beyond Season 2 Episode 6.

That is, of course, how Iris’s decision-making is splitting the group. She is so blinded by anger and rage that she doesn’t notice that there are good people at the CRM who can make a difference, like those who can provide such strong medicine that Indira needs to survive. Hope knows all of this because she has seen it firsthand.

On the flip side, how can you simply save the good people and still manage to take down the bad ones? It’s not as simple as it may sound on paper.

On top of all of that, Jennifer has really been sticking her neck out for everyone, and I’m not convinced Felix and the others are grateful for her at all. They are still stuck on the things she had done but not noticing the situation she is in.

She could easily not care and simply continue her life, but she’s actively choosing to help them. At the same time, if they are ever caught, she would be the one to face a firing squad while the others could probably escape with their lives.

The other problem is that not everyone is on the same page or wants to be. Will should have waited, trusting Felix’s decision to stay. By him trying to sneak his way inside, Dev is killed, and now CRM soldiers are hot on his trail.

He could be putting The Perimeter in the danger he was trying to prevent. It’s a messy situation for everyone and at this point. Who knows who will survive by the end of the series?
