What will happen in The Morning Show season 2 finale? Our 6 predictions!
By Taylor Gates
The Morning Show season 2 has been a beautifully chaotic rollercoaster, filled with highs (Bradley and Laura’s relationship! The Maggie interview!), lows (Alex getting COVID! Alex and Chip’s big argument!), and unexpected twists (Mitch’s death! Claire’s involvement in the Hannah lawsuit!). This show is always unpredictable, but one thing is for sure: all nine episodes have been leading up to an explosive The Morning Show season 2 finale.
As the season draws to a close tonight, here are a few of our predictions. We can’t wait to see which of them come true — and hopefully, get to keep exploring all of the topics even further if the show gets a season 3. (Fingers crossed!)
The Morning Show season 2 finale prediction: There are going to be more COVID scares
This one feels like a safe bet for several reasons. For one, the episode is entitled “Fever,” which feels rather ominous. Two, the show’s timeline now puts us in March, matching when the pandemic started hitting New York hardest. And three, it was revealed that Alex Levy herself had coronavirus at the end of the last episode.
From Mitch’s funeral service to the studio, Alex has likely come into contact with hundreds of people since returning from Italy — including Laura, who has a heart condition. One small silver lining is that, due to the dire circumstances, Chip and Alex may finally be able to put aside their differences and reunite after their huge fight.
The Morning Show season 2 finale prediction: The lawsuit is going to pick up steam
The subject of Hannah’s lawsuit has seemed to be lurking under the surface for most of this season. Although we got Cory going to speak to her father, there haven’t been any huge repercussions from it yet. We have a feeling this might be changing soon and coming to the forefront of the drama — especially now that Yanko has learned of Claire’s involvement in it. Is there any way to use what he knows to get himself out of the hot water he’s found himself in from the cultural appropriation allegations and trouble from punching a racist? We’ll have to wait and see.
The Morning Show season 2 finale prediction: Bradley is going to go searching for her brother
Though Bradley and Laura had a heart-to-heart a few weeks ago about Bradley potentially cutting off her family, we’re not entirely convinced that’s going to happen. Though Bradley tried to set boundaries with Hal last week, the episode ended with her finding out he returned the money she gave him for rehab. It’s clear Bradley still loves and feels responsible for him, so we predict she may go searching for him to make sure he’s okay.
The Morning Show season 2 finale prediction: Paola is going to make connections for her documentary
Paola and Mitch were such central characters in the first half of this season. Although Paola’s story has started to fade into the background a bit since Mitch died, we have a feeling she won’t stay there. Last week, Alex encouraged Paola to utilize her connections quickly before her reputation was tarnished by Maggie’s book. Paola, though sad, does seem to be driven — something tells us she’s going to be reaching out and trying to make her mark shortly.
The Morning Show season 2 finale prediction: Maggie is going to retaliate
Bradley’s interview with Maggie was scathing, to say the least. Despite Maggie’s best efforts, Bradley made her come off as cold, uncaring, and frankly, not a very good journalist when it came to her exposé on Alex and The Morning Show. After suffering such a humiliating blow, Maggie may seek revenge — in the form of another story centering on someone else at The Morning Show, perhaps?
The Morning Show season 2 finale prediction: Daniel is finally going to get his chance to shine
This might be wishful thinking considering poor Daniel has been pushed to the side over and over again, but with everything going on, now might be his turn to shine. Alex will be out for a while, Bradley might go searching for her brother, and Laura is headed to Montana — perhaps he’ll emerge as the hero? After all, he’s been pushing COVID coverage from the very beginning.
Stella has also been waiting in the wings serving as Cory’s right-hand. He’s sure to have his hands full with the powderkeg of issues that’s about to explode, so maybe she’ll get a chance to truly show what she’s capable of, too.
