The Morning Show season 3 renewed with new showrunner
By Taylor Gates
The Morning Show season 2 finished up its run on Apple TV+ last November — and what a season it was. From new faces like Cory’s right-hand woman Stella Bak and Bradley’s girlfriend Laura Peterson to shocking twists like Alex getting COVID and Mitch dying in a car crash, there was never a dull moment. Luckily, fans will get to see even more twists and turns in The Morning Show season 3. It was announced today that Apple TV+ has renewed the series for another installment.
When will The Morning Show season 3 premiere?
Though there’s no official word on when the third season will premiere, season 1 premiered in November 2019, while season 2 came out September 2021. The nearly two years between the two seasons can be attributed to COVID and the unique complications and challenges it presents when filming.
It’s likely that the third season will follow the same pattern and also have a fall premiere, though whether that be this year or next year remains to be seen due to the ongoing pandemic.
Who will be in The Morning Show season 3?
The Morning Show has an all-star ensemble cast, including everyone from Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon to Mark Duplass and Billy Crudup. Season 2 also introduced Greta Lee and Julianna Margulies. While it’s a safe bet Steve Carrell won’t be returning due to his character’s arc ending rather definitively last season, we’re likely to see most of the others return.
The Morning Show season 3 will also have some new names behind the scenes. Charlotte Stoudt — who has worked on projects like Homeland, New Amsterdam, Fosse/Verdon, and House of Cards — will be stepping in as showrunner, while Kerry Ehrin, who served as showrunner for the first two seasons, will serve as a consultant while developing other projects for Apple TV.
