Yellowjackets season 1 episode 10 recap: Are Lottie and Jackie dead or alive?

This week on the Yellowjackets season 1 finale, things come to a head between Shauna and Jackie. In the present day, the Yellowjackets clean up a crime scene and hit up their high school reunion. Plus, a new person is all but confirmed to have survived the wilderness.

Yellowjackets season 1 episode 10 recap: Is Jackie dead?

There’s trouble in paradise for a few of our favorite couples, one of them being Natalie and Travis, who have been fighting for a few episodes now. However, after the traumatizing night, Travis has had, Natalie asks him if he’s okay. Though he initially brushes her off, saying he’s better than ever since he got laid, he gets more vulnerable when he can’t find Javi. Natalie helps him look for him, and the two eventually hug and make up.

Van confides in Tai that she saw something after the wolves attacked her, believing she was in a strange space between being dead and alive. Tai is still skeptical, which makes Van defensive. She says if there’s a problem with her believing in the supernatural, Tai needs to just say it. Tai softens at this, comforting her and saying everything is okay.

All of the girls wake up in the forest confused — and with Jackie livid at them. Ben tries to diffuse the situation, saying they all did crazy things because of Misty’s mushrooms, but before anything can escalate too far, a bear comes out of the woods. Lottie manages to kill it with a knife, the bear even seeming to cooperate with her.

Everyone is suspicious of how Lottie knew they wouldn’t be hungry anymore and that the bear would come, but she says she just did. Jackie is skeptical, thinking she just got lucky or that the bear is sick. Van thinks they should thank the universe for the food, and everyone says grace except for Jackie — a fact Misty is quick to point out.

This leads to Jackie getting angrier, asking when everyone started howling at the moon, having orgies, and nearly knifing Travis. Shauna tells her none of this would have happened had she not stolen Travis, and Jackie tells everyone the big secret about Shauna stealing Jeff.

Shauna gets upset, telling Jackie she gets everything she wants all the time — she simply assumed Shauna would follow her to college and play soccer with her, even though she doesn’t even like the sport. Jackie tells her she’s just jealous, but Shauna shoots back that she feels sorry that she’ll peak in high school. Shauna tells Jackie she’s the problem and should leave, and Jackie goes to sleep outside.

That night, Shauna is clearly feeling guilty, looking out the window and considering talking to Jackie, but she doesn’t. Instead, she has a dream (or Jackie has a hallucination — it’s unclear) about bringing Jackie inside and giving her hot chocolate, with all of the girls saying they love her. However, it quickly turns into a nightmare, with ghosts of dead teammates saying they’ve been waiting for Jackie to join them.

When Shauna wakes up, she runs outside and sobs when she sees that Jackie has frozen to death overnight. Later, Lottie brings her heart to an altar with Van and Misty kneeling next to her and says, “Let the darkness set us free.”

Yellowjackets season 1 episode 10 recap: What do they do with Adam’s body?

Misty stops by her work to “pick up Tupperware she left” — aka gather supplies to clean the Adam crime scene. Tai and Shauna are not pleased to see Misty, but they let her take charge anyway, agreeing to wipe phones, look for security cameras, and destroy evidence. Misty and Tai clean, while Natalie helps Shauna dismember the body.

While cutting up Adam, Natalie questions if he started acting weird after killing Travis, but Shauna says she was with him that entire day and couldn’t have done it. Shauna tells Natalie that Travis might have just killed himself because his mind was messed up after what happened in the woods, but Natalie refuses to believe it. Shauna gently encourages her to forgive Adam for committing suicide because the world is a dark place.

Misty has them bury Adam’s torso in the woods since torsos are useless for identifying bodies. She has his head and hands cremated along with one of her patients who had died. It seems they’re going to get away with it, but later that night, Callie sees Shauna and Jeff laughing together on the couch — something that already confuses her considering she knows about Shauna’s affair. She grows even more suspicious when a news story comes on with the anchor saying they’re looking for Adam, who’s gone missing.

Yellowjackets season 1 episode 10 recap: Did Misty kill Jessica?

Natalie, Tai, and Shauna all feel haunted by what they’ve done while getting ready for the reunion, but they visibly relax when they find each other.

Natalie finds some closure with Kevyn, saying she now believes Travis killed himself. He tells Natalie to take care of herself and hopes she finds what she needs.

Shauna tells Randy that if he ever tells anyone what he and Jeff did, she’ll murder him. Speaking of Jeff, Allie, the freshman who was supposed to be on the plane until Tai broke her leg, is there hitting on Jeff. She teases a special way to honor the 25-year anniversary of the plane crash.

This surprise turns out to be a rather cringy speech and a soccer slideshow. She has Jeff and Shauna dance, as Jeff was homecoming king and Jackie was homecoming queen and she knows it’s what Jackie would have wanted.

Misty goes home and tells Jessica that the reunion showed her how much people need to hear her story. She’s considering letting Jessica go but asks how she can trust that she won’t go to the police. Jessica reveals she’s a fixer for the rich and powerful and this kidnapping stint won’t make her rethink their partnership — she’s done a lot of crazy things in her life that she can’t forget.

Misty lets her go, and Jessica promises to reach out to her contacts and literary agents before smoking and driving away. It’s clear she doesn’t like or trust Misty by the look on her face as she leaves — and rightfully so. She passes out in the car, realizing that Misty drugged her.

Though things are still tense between Tai and Simone, Tai does manage to pull a big upset and win the election. Unfortunately, not everything is working in her favor. Simone ventures down to the basement and finds a blood trail leading to the dismembered body of their dog.

Natalie cleans her hotel room and looks at Travis’ pictures before planning to commit suicide. She takes a gun and is preparing to shoot herself when there’s a pounding on her door. A group of people wearing the symbol from the woods grab her and shove her into a van.

Suzie, the former sponsor Natalie blackmailed, leaves her a frantic voicemail. She figured out who emptied Travis’ bank account and is now being followed. She wants to know one thing: who’s Lottie Matthews?
