Good news and bad news regarding Derry Girls season 3
If you love the Netflix comedy Derry Girls, you’ll be both happy and saddened by the following update. It appears as though season 3 has finished filming, according to an Instagram post by Nicola Coughlan, who plays Clare Devlin.
The Bridgerton star posted the following with a short but sweet: “Goodbye Derry Girls, it’s been quite a ride 🌈”
Oh, and if you love Bridgerton (returning to Netflix on March 25th), she has some Instagram posts you may find interesting. Yay, filming is finished! So when does the third season get released on Netflix?
We’re hoping that it will have a 2022 release date (there isn’t a confirmed premiere day yet), but that’s not the bad news. The bad news is that this will also be the show’s final season.
Netflix and Channel 4’s Derry Girls will be returning for its third and final season.
So what could that possibly mean for our main characters?
Considering some of the wildest and craziest scenarios seem to happen to Erin, Clare, Orla, Michelle, and James, I suppose anything goes? C’mon — it’s the 90s, and the group attends the strict Catholic secondary school Our Lady Immaculate College. How can they not find themselves in situations no one could possibly believe?
Let’s not forget Erin’s family surely will find themselves in continued shenanigans of their own. It seems no one is spared of comedic storylines in this show.
Will Erin and James possibly become an item now that he is staying in Ireland? Will Clare find herself a potential girlfriend?
Will anyone take Sister Michael seriously? And perhaps, above all, how will this laugh-out-loud, series end?
