Will Hulu’s historical comedy The Great return for a third season?

Hulu’s hardly historically accurate comedy The Great is two seasons down, but is a third season on the horizon? Thankfully, a third season is going to happen. However, we do not have a release date as of yet.

Depending on who you ask, a third season would be sufficient, as Catherine’s story is far from over. he has endured consistent pain and suffering since season 1, and just when you thought she’d finally caught a break, her husband pulls a stunt like sleeping with her mother, accidentally killing her in the process.

You know, typical comedic insanity that The Great thrives at. While Elle Fanning (Catherine) and Nicholas Hoult’s (Peter) characters have developed quite well since the show began, where their marriage will end up is anyone’s guess at this point.

In the beginning, their marriage was far from happy, as Catherine found solace and true love with Leo Voronsky (Sebastian de Souza). But after Leo’s death and Nicholas losing the throne, the two royals were starting to find some common ground.

Will Peter finally die in the third season and allow Catherine to rule Russia without any more disruptions, or will the show change things up and still keep Catherine on top? She has continued hopes and dreams for Russia, and it would be a shame to see her fail at every turn.

On the one hand, one could argue that Peter isn’t going anywhere for a while because of this interesting information from Slashfilm. “Before The Great premiered, executive producer Marian Macgowan confirmed the show was designed to last for years, stating (via Decider), “We initially pitched six seasons. So we believe there’s sufficient material to take us through until [Catherine] is an old woman.”.”
