Was that Cobb Vanth at the end of The Book of Boba Fett?
The Book of Boba Fett has wrapped up on Disney Plus, but that doesn’t mean we still don’t have some questions and speculations, one of them being the end credit scene of the season finale Chapter 7, “In the Name of Honor.”
The entire episode was probably far from what anyone really expected. Grogu appears to help Mandalorian Din Djarin in the fight against the Pykes, Boba Fett enlists the help of the beastly rancor against massive fighter droids, the people of Freetown arrive to avenge Cobb Vanth, Cad Bane shows up; long story short, a whole lot happens.
In the end, Boba Fett declares victory thanks to the help of those he can now probably consider friends. Tatooine has been rid of the Pykes, the citizens are grateful, Boba Fett can begin a reign of peace, everyone wins.
Din Djarin leaves with Grogu in his new ship, possibly on his way to what we will see next in The Mandalorian season 3. But that isn’t the end-all-be-all.
Cobb Vanth’s recovery in Boba Fett’s bacta tank could mean he survived Cad Bane’s attack on The Book of Boba Fett.
During the end credits scene, it appears as though Cobb Vanth is recovering in Boba Fett’s bacta tank! Not only that, but it looks like he will survive his injuries from Cad Bane thanks to some Star Wars ingenuity.
The same man who saved Fennec’s life by adding droid parts looks over the resting Vanth, ready to start working. This is a huge relief as fans speculated if Cobb Vanth was actually killed or not the episode prior — not to mention Cad Bane himself admits he killed him. But thankfully, it looks like Vanth is here to stay!
But if he survived, does that mean Cad Bane somehow isn’t dead either? Cue the dramatic music and begin the timer until the next installment of either The Mandalorian or perhaps The Book of Boba Fett season 2 arrives!
